He has done well in a previous home with children of various ages and likely could do well with kids again with calm and slow introductions. He has met other dogs and done well! However, he would like to meet any new canine family members before coming home since he is a little nervous being in the shelter. 3.5 years old, 45 pounds pure-bred standard poodle, apricot color. Lucy is absolutely amazing, loves to play with dogs or humans, specifically out at the dog park where she can run and sniff everything in sight. She’s joined me on training runs up to 12 miles so she loves being active and getting her energy out. But, I would say cuddling up and getting her head scratched are her absolute favorite things. She is very affectionate, always ready to lay her head on your chest! She was born with ectopic ureters (which have been surgically fixed) but she remains to be incontinent of urine from weakened bladder muscles. She takes Proin, and combined with frequent visits outside we’ve avoided the need for diapers. She can manage up to 8 hours between bathroom breaks. Lucy would do well in a home with 2 or more people who can care for her, work-from-home, retired, etc. Her interactions with children have been few, but good. I have no doubt she’ll be able to adapt to her new home!

Meet Braxton, your new best friend. Braxton is a 10 year old, poodle mix who loves sleeping and visits to the park. He is kind, shy, and very low maintenance in terms of needing attention. I adopted Braxton from a dog rescue center almost 2 years ago. Braxton has brought so much laughter to my home. I recently started a new job and am no longer able to take care of Braxton like I want to. I hope to find him a new loving family. Preferably, someone who is retired, works from home, or has a flexible schedule to stay with him. He has seperation anxiety and doesn't like to be alone. Rags is ready to meet you! Although his name is not a glamorous one, he does come to it. Rags is a senor little guy, believed to be a Poodle Yorkie Terrier mix approximately 9 years old. He loves car rides and playing fetch, which he is a pro at playing the fetch game. Rags likes to bark and turn in happy circles when he is in a playful, happy mood or when asking for food. He likes to keep his distance, he doesn't care for you getting in his personal space, but he will keep you in his sight. If you are not into doggie kisses, no worries, he is not into humans kissing him either and will turn his head the other way if you try. Rags can be a grumpy old boy and will sometimes grumble when being picked up or handled. He can be nippy when things are not going his way. Rags does not like to get dressed, he will grumble and bare his teeth while getting clothes put on him. Rags does coexist with other dogs, but he does not interact with them very much. He is potty trained to go outside to do his business. Rags would do his best in a home without small children due to his age, size and temperament.
