Our super sweet Fig is a curly coated Mini Poodle who is waiting to meet his forever family! He is a bit shy at first introductions but will gradually warm up to new friends. This adorable boy is very playful and is somewhat choosy about what he likes to eat! He was extremely matted when he first came to us and therefore had to be shaved. His beautiful curls will soon appear!Fig is 3 1/2 years old, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heart worm negative and will be neutered upon adoption . Fred ( front ) and Ethel .. were surrendered to SI ACC. Fred is about 2 and Ethel is maybe a year ...she acts like a puppy. They pretty much eat,sleep, and, play together. Fred will sometimes grumble when he wants space from my dogs or sometimes from Ethel.. nothing more than noise, though. They are very sweet and loving pups. Ethel will lay on my head or chest and Fred tries to get as close as possible. They are both desperate for love. This pair would make a great addition to any family, they are young, happy, playful and ready to be part of a forever home. Two is always better than one!!!They are app 20 lbs each. This 40 pound, sweet, good-natured, young boy, will need daily brushing and regular grooming, but most of all he needs a home where he can run and exercise and the time to train with him. WAFFLES is still recovering but he's full of so much energy and love! It's been one week since Waffles was hospitalized with parvovirus, and we're so relieved to share that he's officially in foster care and doing much better. Waffles is an incredibly energetic, playful, and cuddly pup who will be ready to find his forever home soon, but we still need your help! Waffles’ parvo recovery has been costly, and we're still working hard to raise over $4,000 to cover his vet bills. So far we learned that he's very high energy! Waffles loves to run around, play, and chase toys.He's got a silly personality and is a huge cuddle bug who craves human attention. He’s still learning not to jump on people in excitement but is super friendly with everyone. Waffles is learning the ropes, including basic commands like "sit," "up," and "stay." He enjoys long walks, food (he’s a fan of Taste of the Wild kibble with pumpkin or wet food), and playtime. He’s getting used to his crate, where he naps and sleeps at night. He loves meeting people and gets along well with visitors at home. Unfortunately, he’s still quarantined from other dogs due to parvo, and he hasn’t been around cats or children yet. This handsome poodle mix is approx 3 years and 40 lbs. He was found laying in a ditch unable to move and taken to the local city shelter in Houston TX. His x rays showed that his sacrum had separated from his Lumbar Spine, he also had a bullet in him, but they did not feel that it was affecting his ability to walk, Our orthopedic surgeon said it was an injury that was unable to be repaired. We started him on some physical therapy and after a few days he was able to stand up and while his back legs remained crossed he was able to hop around the yard We started him on a rehab program with the Gulf Coast Physical Therapy and after a few weekly sessions, he is able to run around the yard like the other dogs!! The legs are now uncrossed and he hops with his back legs, he has started to walk at times like a normal dog and we are hoping with some more underwater treadmill sessions that he will continue to improve. He will go out to the yard with the other dogs to urinate etc but at night only he cannot control himself and he sleeps in a crate with a puppy pad or a belly band. He is a sweet boy, he loves to be with people, he gets along with the other rescues but does not like big active dogs and will bark and chase them. We had a special cart made for him so that he can go on long trips around the neighborhood or to the dog park etc.. he still prefers to hop on his own, but it works great for when he gets tired. we do have videos avail for anyone interested in adopting him, he does have some urine staining on his back legs and body and most of it will come out when he gets a bath, but he is not perfect and an owner will need to give him weekly baths. OUR RESCUE POLICY - It is our rescue policy for all our dogs that we require a home with no children under the age of 8, and experienced dog owners only. WE REQUIRE VET RECORDS ON YOUR CURRENT OR PAST DOG FOR OUR REVIEW. RECORDS MUST SHOW THE POTENTIAL ADOPTER AS THE OWNER The total adoption fee of $500 ( and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, distemper and canine influenza, and microchip. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. We also provide a free wellness visit to the South Wilton Vet group if convenient for you.
