WAFFLES is still recovering but he's full of so much energy and love! It's been one week since Waffles was hospitalized with parvovirus, and we're so relieved to share that he's officially in foster care and doing much better. Waffles is an incredibly energetic, playful, and cuddly pup who will be ready to find his forever home soon, but we still need your help! Waffles’ parvo recovery has been costly, and we're still working hard to raise over $4,000 to cover his vet bills. So far we learned that he's very high energy! Waffles loves to run around, play, and chase toys.He's got a silly personality and is a huge cuddle bug who craves human attention. He’s still learning not to jump on people in excitement but is super friendly with everyone. Waffles is learning the ropes, including basic commands like "sit," "up," and "stay." He enjoys long walks, food (he’s a fan of Taste of the Wild kibble with pumpkin or wet food), and playtime. He’s getting used to his crate, where he naps and sleeps at night. He loves meeting people and gets along well with visitors at home. Unfortunately, he’s still quarantined from other dogs due to parvo, and he hasn’t been around cats or children yet. We’re so grateful for the support and love Waffles has received so far. With your help, we can get him the treatment he needs and find him a loving family. This 40 pound, sweet, good-natured, young boy, will need daily brushing and regular grooming, but most of all he needs a home where he can run and exercise and the time to train with him. We really appreciate that you want to give a shelter animal a home. The Humane Society of New York was founded in 1904. This sweet, handsome fella was roaming the city and county for a few months and no one could catch him. We were called in to help and within a few hours he was safe in our care thanks to a citizen helping man the traps. He is very sweet, friendly and loving but he definitely has a checkered past. He does not like to be left alone for too long and can get destructive. Like many dogs here in TN he was neglected to the point where he lost trust in humans. He has now learned that there are some really great humans and so he wants to be with you. He does like to play with other dogs and will do best in a home with another dog or 2 that are friendly and playful. He is also very young (we can only guess) so he needs an active family. He loves water, going for walks and is a great car rider. He does great with kids too. I think he would love a big, fun family to smother him with love and attention. He will need an adopter willing to work with his separation anxiety and help him get over that(there are lots of free resources). He is a Poodle, not sure if he is pure or a mix but he is going to require regular grooming. He is a high maintenance guy looking for the perfect home to meet his needs.
