Story
Marcel is a 2.5-year-old, 45-pound standard poodle who was born and raised in an Amish puppy mill. His early life was far from ideal, as he spent his beginning in a confined and stressful environment, used solely for breeding. Despite these tough beginnings, Marcel's gentle nature has always shone through. He is skittish, a trait shaped by his limited exposure to the outside world and human interaction. Loud noises and sudden movements can easily startle him, but beneath this nervous exterior lies a sweet and loving soul. With a soft touch and kind words, Marcel quickly warms up, revealing his gentle disposition. Marcel is making great progress in his new life away from the mill. He is adjusting well to crate training, finding comfort in having his own space, and he is housebroken. This small, secure area helps him feel at ease as he explores his surroundings. A securely fenced yard is essential for Marcel since he has realized that the outside world is not as frightening as he once thought. Every day, Marcel shows progress. He follows his foster mom around the house and even rested his chin on her knee for pets. With patience and care, he is slowly discovering the joys of being a cherished pet rather than a breeding dog. His journey is one of resilience and hope as he learns to trust, love, and be loved in return. Marcel is fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. His adoption fee is $450.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Umbra! She's a one-year-old, 35lb standard poodle. Umbra was found as a stray, severely underweight, and with matted fur, suggesting she had never been groomed in her life. She is adjusting well to her foster home and is quickly learning how to "dog". Umbra enjoys in the company of dogs of all sizes and ages in her foster home, where she's learning the ropes and embracing the companionship. As she continues to adapt to her foster home, she is learning the joy of playing with toys and romping in the yard with her canine friends. She very much enjoys playing fetch with tennis balls. Umbra also enjoys being as close to her human as possible. While she's already comfortable with both women and men, she hasn't had the chance to interact with children or cats. Umbra is currently working on learning manners. She's very affectionate and will invade your personal space to show her love, but she responds well to redirection. With medium to high energy, Umbra would thrive in an active household where she can burn off her puppy energy. She does well in a crate and is doing great with potty training. Umbra already knows how to sit and shake and walks well on a leash. She is also very vocal and will "talk" to you. Umbra is fostered in Liberty Township, OH. Her adoption fee is $450.00. Story
Please contact Jetta (Jetta.elliott@att.net) for more information about this pet.Male AussieDoodleGumbo is an energetic boy who very much has Australian Shepherd Characteristics. Gumbo/Beau loves running in my fields, playing hide-and-seek, and going for walks. He has the most gorgeous wavy non-shed coat. He does not seem to shed at all! Super soft and fluffy coat. He is a gorgeous dog. He is going on two years old And would rather be loved on rather than eat sometimes, so I spoil him and hand feed when he’s extra affectionate. he has amazing recall and always circles back to check up on me during our walks. Gumbo/Beau is currently in Arkansas and would be transported to your location through the rescue network transport. There is a Facebook page where you can see hours of videos of this pup so you can get to know him though he’s far away. Story
We adopted Thelma a month ago, and she just isn't a good fit for our family. She is super sweet, but doesnt mesh well with other animals. I am going to be away for work for a little while, so don't have the time she needs to be completely trained. I adopted her from a breeder, who was got to use to go breed, but decided against it.
