Jackson is currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet him, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.Jackson is a handsome adult male (almost 5 yrs old) Standard Poodle with a sweet, easygoing personality and wonderful house manners. He is completely house trained and understands routines well, often standing by the door when he wants to go out—though he loves being outside so much that he’s happy to wait there just in case! Jackson is well behaved, affectionate, and enjoys spending time with his people. He handles being touched very well, including having his paws wiped, and already knows “sit” and “paw.”Jackson has a great balance of playful energy and calm companionship. He loves being outdoors, watching birds fly by, and playing in the yard. Fetch is one of his favorite games—and he actually brings the toy back! He also enjoys tug and walks with a lively pace, keeping an interested eye on squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, and birds along the way. At home he’s content to relax on the couch or floor during the day and happily sleeps in bed with his person at night.Jackson settles nicely when left alone during the workday and has shown no signs of aggression, fear, or resource guarding. He eats well on a regular schedule and is generally very responsive when redirected, though he may occasionally check the kitchen counters for snacks or do a little digging outside. If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/   This dog is a 4-5 year old female Standard Poodle who weighs in at 48.8 pounds.  This dog's adoption fee is $600.  If you are still interested, please read more below. This girl’s name is actually Nella. She came to us as a male, 1 year old, golden doodle named Lenny, but surprise she is a girl! The vet also believes she is actually a standard poodle and about 4-5 years old. She is a very gentle, sweet girl, but still very scared of life. She likes to stay in her spot all day unless she goes for a walk. She does great walking on leash, and she loves to walk her same path everyday, multiple times a day! She also loves any sort of edible chew toy that you give her. Nella girl loves to be brushed; it puts her right to sleep!! Because we don’t know her exact story, we have been learning some of her triggers as we go. She is still very nervous with just about everything! It will take her time to settle in. We think there must have been some trauma for her with cars, because she is still nervous around them. She prefers women and has adjusted better to women in the house versus men. Nella has very specific routines that she likes to follow, but she is a very sweet girl!! She would do best in a home without kids, because she likes to be in a quiet, peaceful environment. She doesn’t mind other dogs as long as they happily ignore her, but she isn’t one for really engaging with them. If you have the time, patience, and love to let her settle in on her own time, she would be a great dog for you! She is fully crate-trained, house-trained, and leash-trained! This dog is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken, and spayed.  This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today!  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.   Thank you for considering a rescue pet from A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation!
