Story
Carlisle, AKA Lyle came to Murci's Mission from our partners at SCRAPS.  He is a young and energized dog that we suspect may be a Lagotto Standard Poodle mix of some kind.  Par usual for doodle type dogs, Lyle arrived to the shelter matted and displaying skin allergies and remarkable skin and ear infection. He has been through antibiotics and is healing, however he is eating a salmon and sweet potato diet and is taking apoquel for allergy management ($60-90 per month). We believe he will be able to wean off the medication after his body has time to heal.  He will need routine professional grooming. This is not the kind of dog that will be able to go without haircuts or he will mat and suffer with painful tangled hair pulling his skin.  He is great wirh other dogs and loves to play. He would also be fine with kids, and he can be housed with dog savvy cats but he will attempt to chase, so the cat needs to be steadfast and not run from him or he will likely rise to the occasion and fly around the house like a curly little tornado.  Lyle is crate and leash trained and he is just learning the routine with house training so will likely have a few accidents while getting settled in and learning a new routine. He sheds minimally and does not maintain a double coat but a tightly curled single layer of hair like a standard poodle. While not all doodles are low shedding or hypoallergenic, we would say he is both.  Lyle comes neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed.
