Story
Picture will be available after shavedown. Note-Toby does not seem to like small dogs but does well with dogs his size or larger Toby came to us as an owner surrender. Toby came in with 4 other standard poodles that we will be getting ready in the coming weeks. The pups were surrendered because the owner became overwhelmed and could no longer care for them. All of the dogs were living in an RV with a child and the owner. It just became too much and they decided it would be in the dog's best interest to find them new homes. Since the dogs just arrived at the rescue, we do not have a lot of specific info on them as we are just starting to get to know them ourselves. Toby is very friendly and active. He would be a great walking partner or adventure taker. Toby wants to be near you and will follow you everywhere. He seems to love everyone and has just made himself right at home with us and the other dogs. He seems to do well in the house and has not tried getting on the counters or in the trash (so far). He seems to be (partially) housetrained but that has yet to be determined fully since he just arrived. We have not tried Toby in a crate yet but he would probably do fine. Toby does walk well on a leash and rode well to the vet. He seemed to enjoy his outing. Toby had quite a few mats so we will be having the vet shave him down next week. They were not able to get the shavedown done on Wednesday when he was neutered becauae they were short staffed and had a full sugery schedule. He may also be just a bit underweight so we will be working on fattening him up (we will be able to tell better once the coat comes off). He is a really nice boy with a bit more energy and confidence than Dusty and we think he would do well in pretty much any household. He would probably prefer someone who could be home most of the time but he doesn't appear to have separation anxiety if you can't be with him every minute. We think he will be a wonderful companion, especially for a more active household/family! Toby saw the vet on 9/4/24 and was found to have an ear infection, an eye infection and matted on his exam. He did receive an ear pluck and Claro Otic for his ear infection and has started on eye meds for the eye infection. He will be shaved down Monday or Tuesday of next week (we have him and a female to get done so not sure who will go what day but hoth should be done and totally ready for adoption after 9/10/24). He also tested negative on his heartworm test but was positive for hookworms on his fecal so we have given him a Drontal for the hookworms. He may need a follow up in 3 weeks. He has been started on Simparica Trio monthly also for flea control and heartworm prevention. Toby weighed 45 pounds as of 9/4/24. If interested in giving Toby his forever home, please submit your interest and your adoption application via email or text ONLY to 352-215-3260 (phone calls will not be answered or returned from this number). Toby's adoption fee will be $400 to help cover the cost of his vetting and daily care while with us. We will only consider applicants who complete the adoption application and will determine whether the applicant would be a good fit for Toby based on the info provided in the application. If we feel that you will be a good match for him, we will set up a meet and greet appointment with you

Story
Carey and his siblings were born into rescue. His mom came into rescue with 4 other standard poodles and we discovered, once she was groomed, that she was pregnant. We are pretty positive these babies are purebred and we believe their dad to be Toby (also listed) however, please remember that mom was pregnant when we got her so we can't guarantee that. They do appear to be purebred though but either way they are simply adorable and have the most wonderful personalities. They absolutely love attention and have received loads of it so they are very social little pups. They love to play, they love to eat and they love getting loved on! Since they are puppies, they are also blank slates so they will fit well into any home or family since you will be able to socialize and train them to fit your particular home environment and family situation. They will need training as well. They were born on 10/10/24 so they are only 2 months old and have not learned potty training or any obedience skills yet. You will have to be prepared to put in the work that all puppies require. They are also not yet leash trained. Since we believe them to be poodles, they will require grooming to keep their coats beautiful and mat free. Please keep that in mind as that will be an extra expense every few months, unless you are able to groom yourself. These babies will be wonderful family companions and have so much potential to be great dogs! Carey saw the vet on 12/16/24 and was found to an ear infection and was given Claro Otic to treat. He was found to have no other issues noted. He is too young for a heartworm test still but his fecal check did show positive for hookworms so he has been dewormed with drontal plus and has been started on Simparica Trio for heartworm prevention and flea control. Carey weighed 11.7 pounds as of 12/16/24. He's a healthy baby boy ready to start his new life! If interested in giving Carey his forever home, please submit your interest and your adoption application via email or text ONLY to 352-215-3260 (phone calls will not be answered or returned from this number). Story
Hi, my name is Smokey. I am a sweet and gentle old soul. I am a bit of an introvert and get nervous around strangers, especially strange men. It will take me a bit of time to make new friends and learn to trust new people. But once someone has gained my trust, I am very affectionate and love to be pet! I love other dogs and get along fine with cats! I am very well behaved in a home, fully house broken, and do very well being groomed by people I trust! Children make me nervous, so I would do best in an adult-only home. I'd love to find someone who is a homebody introvert like me, who won't have too many people over to the house or make me go out to socialize. I'd prefer a quiet night in on the couch binge watching TV with you! If you need a new buddy to cuddle up with on the couch, count me in!
