Story
This is a courtesy post Please contact Donna at dogrescue@gmail.com or text her at 203-340-5912 Peter is a 4 ½ year old male dog who is neutered and up to date on his vaccines. He was adopted by his family when he was just 10 weeks old and is believed to be a poodle pointer. He has lots of energy and loves to play. Peter is a fun loving guy who loves to: Play fetch Sit in his pool Swim in any kinds of water Go on walks/hikes with his family Chase the hose outside Being outdoors Chase birds, rabbits and squirrels (He has yet to catch one, but continues to try) He is very social with company that comes over to visit Loves sitting at his front door with it open watching the traffic/people go by Loves sleeping in his crate at night Can leave him home all day and will not chew objects in home He loves having jobs and working Peter is considered special needs due to his high anxiety. Due to his family having a toddler, his family has made the difficult decision that Peter needs a home with less noise and more space. He is a very skittish dog who needs to be with someone who understands his high needs. Peter worked with a trainer for a year - is great with the commands: Sit Come Down Place Stay Leave it No Quirks: Food aggression (He loves finding his food in the house and is given space when he eats and does great) Resource Guarding Tight Spaces (He becomes uncomfortable and can become reactive if felt threatened) Sleep startled (He has a space in his home where he knows he can go sleep and not be bothered) Peter needs a special home equipped to work with him on easing his anxieties. His adopter will receive a training package with his current trainer to allow for a smooth transition. His family is willing to help with any transition as well. He would benefit from a family who has land for him to roam. Due to his high anxiety, he would do best in a home with adults only and no other dogs. (Although he does well with other dogs especially females)

Apply for Kingsley My name is Kingsley, and I’m an exuberant 10-week-old poodle mix eager to find my forever home. When I grow up, I’ll be a medium-sized companion, perfect for snuggling on the couch or joining you on outdoor adventures. I’m proud to say that I’m up to date on all my vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped, so you can rest easy knowing I’m ready for my new chapter!   I have a great personality filled with fun and energy. I absolutely love being around people and other pets, so whether you have dogs, kids, or even cats, I’ll fit right in and make a wonderful addition to your family. I’m currently working hard on my housebreaking and crate training, and I’m making great progress every day. I can’t wait to show you just how quickly I can learn!   As you might notice, I have some pretty adorable curly locks! These curls aren’t just for show; they mean I’ll need regular grooming sessions to keep me looking sharp and feeling good. Think of it as my little spa days where I can be pampered and preened.   One important note: while I may look like the perfect hypoallergenic dog, we don’t want to mislead anyone. We can’t guarantee that I won’t trigger allergies, so please keep that in mind when considering me as your new furry friend.    ##2297819##

Story
This sweet, handsome fella was roaming the city and county for a few months and no one could catch him. We were called in to help and within a few hours he was safe in our care thanks to a citizen helping man the traps. He is very sweet, friendly and loving but he definitely has a checkered past. He does not like to be left alone for too long and will cry like a baby. Like many dogs here in TN he was neglected to the point where he lost trust in humans. He has now learned that there are some really great humans and so he wants to be with you. He does like to play with other dogs and will do best in a home with another dog or 2 that are friendly and playful. He gets along with cats as well. He is also very young (we can only guess) so he needs an active family. He loves water, going for walks and is a great car rider. He does great with kids too. I think he would love a big, fun family to smother him with love and attention. He will need an adopter willing to work with his separation anxiety and help him get over that(there are lots of free resources). He is a Poodle, not sure if he is pure or a mix but he is going to require regular grooming. He is a high maintenance guy looking for the perfect home to meet his needs. If you are interested in our sweet Roman please visit funnyfarmpets.org where you can read all about our TN based rescue and how the adoption and transport process works. You will also find the link to submit the application. His adoption fee is $325 and if he has to be transported from TN where he is currently fostered there will be an additional $200 fee.

Story
*APPLICANTS MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE OWNING DOGS THAT NEED REGULAR, PROFESSIONAL GROOMING!* Meet our playful Doodle dog boy named Winter! Winter will be 6 years old in May, and we are told he is a mix of Standard Poodle and Labrador Retriever. He is an outgoing and friendly boy who loves people! Winter was surrendered to our shelter after his family could no longer give him the time and attention he craves. He was a frequent roamer in town, but we have learned he loves attention and just wants to be with someone. Winter loves toys and will play fetch. He is also very food motivated and he will sit politely for a treat. We are told Winter is house trained and we were told he is very good at the grooming salon. When he came in, Winter had a long coat that was recently shaved while he was neutered. His head fur is still a bit long and he will need to see a professional groomer soon. Winter is a really friendly boy who would love a family to give him the love and attention he deserves! Applicants must have experience owning dogs who need REGULAR PROFESSIONAL GROOMING! Winter is good with other dogs and seems fine with cats as well. We were told he is better with female dogs, but we are willing to do a meet and greet with a male dog as well. Winter can go to a home with children 10 years old and older. If you are interested in adopting Winter, Please Email us at Adopt@savingpawsct.org for an application! His adoption fee is $75.00. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL SPAM FOLDER! MAC IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK (M-F 8-4pm) (Sat-Sun 10-4pm) Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. Appts to meet dogs can made to suit your schedule, please email/call for an appt. We do prefer to be contacted by email for adoption inquiries at Adopt@savingpawsct.org. The office phone number is 203-235-4179. Leave a message, and someone will call you back promptly. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL SPAM FOLDER! You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal. Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments. ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME. For more info please call 203-235-4179 (Always Leave A Message) or email adopt@savingpawsct.org

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Rusty! This resilient and loving boy has been through so much but is finally ready for his forever home. Rusty was owner-surrendered in horrific condition, suffering from a severe ear infection that nearly cost him his eardrums and left him temporarily deaf. His infection was so bad that it caused painful sores all over his body and in his mouth. Despite the neglect he endured, Rusty’s spirit never wavered. Now fully vetted, healed, and healthy, Rusty is a happy, affectionate pup who is great with other dogs, cats, and people. He loves attention, enjoys cuddles, and is ready to experience the love and care he always deserved. His adoption fee is $600, and he’s searching for a family who will cherish him forever. If you’re looking for a sweet, friendly, and resilient companion, apply today at www.adoggie4you.org!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 6, 2025, 2:50 pm
