Story
Loki is a great 2 years old standard poodle (about 50 lbs). He almost never barks and never bite. He is well potty trained. He really follows the directions and understands well during walk. He loves people and kids and very playful. We are truly sad we need to rehome Loki due to our relocation and frequent travels. We are looking forward to a family with many kids who can play with him and love each other every single day!

Story
Meet Sprocket, a 4-year-old Poodle mix with a big personality and a heart full of potential. Sprocket has had a rough start and comes with a history of reactivity and biting. He’s a scared dog who needs a firm, experienced owner to help him feel secure and establish boundaries. Sprocket has had training sessions and responds well to clear, consistent leadership. Once he knows you’re in charge, he’s much more relaxed and doesn’t push back. However, he does react to new people and should wear a muzzle during initial introductions for safety. Despite his challenges, Sprocket has no health issues and thrives on affection from his trusted person. He enjoys being cuddled and will show his sweet side once he’s built trust. If you’re an experienced dog owner ready to provide a structured, loving environment, Sprocket could be a rewarding companion. He’s looking for someone who can help him overcome his fears and show him the love and stability he deserves.

Story
Franklin is a phenomenal dog. He is an 8.5 year old standard poodle who is energetic and healthy. My husband and I have raised Franklin since he was a puppy. Since then, he has seen our family grow to now include 3 children 5 and under. We are no longer able to give Franklin the attention he deserves in order to have a thriving, happy life. We are looking for a happy home for Franklin that will provide him the following: - a space/opportunity to exercise and play during the day - a lot of cuddles and love - an owner who has time to break some bad habits (which will happen easily, he's very smart) - including counter surfing, taking food Franklin is very cuddly and loving towards all people - including children. He is friendly with other dogs. He is strong awareness and will bark if potential strangers approach a home/yard. He is a wonderful dog and we are wiling to wait to find the right new home for him for his last chapter in life.

Story
Please go to our website at www.milehighlabmission.com to find out more about this pet and to submit an adoption application.  Please DO NOT call or email us; all information about current dogs available, adoption donations, vetting, and this specific dog are on our website. We are a non-profit organization and we are completely 100% volunteer run. We DO NOT have a shelter and only approved applicants can make appointments with our foster homes to meet the dogs we have. Our volunteers will not discuss dogs we have available for adoption UNTIL you have an application on file and are approved to adopt.General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.  Personality | Oliver is such a sweet boy that only wants love and affection! He greets everyone with kisses and tail wiggles. He loves to snuggle up and get pets. Oliver can't wait for a new life full of love and adventure.Story | Oliver was confiscated from his owners due to neglect. He was extremely matted and had to be shaved. But his hair is growing in great! (We've all had one bad hair cut in our lives...)Other Dogs | Friendly! Oliver loves other dogs. He's meet them on and off leash without issue. He is having a blast with his foster sister, they run and play together as well as lay in the grass and hang out.Cats | Unknown.Children Oliver is very friendly with the children in his foster home. He likes to give his paw for a treat.Training | He is a well-mannered dog. He has learned sit and come while with his foster family. They are working with a professional trainer to help with leash skills. He really just wants to be right next to his people. Food motivated with treats which helps with training. Leash | He pulls when excited. It doesn't seem like he's been exposed to the leash very much. We're confident he'll get the hang of it with time and foster family is working with a trainer to help him get there faster. Activity Level | Medium-high. Oliver is a young dog with sporting breed genetics. He will do best in an active home that provides regular exercise and socialization. Sheepadoodles require 40-60 minutes of daily exercise.Health Notes | Oliver is heartworm positive, but treatment is very successful and completely manageable with all the proper education. MHLRM will cover the expense of treatment at one of our approved veterinarians. Heartworm positive dogs go on to live happy, normal lives after treatment and rarely experience long-term side effects. Don't let this stop you from adopting Oliver! Grooming | Sheepadoodles require regular brushing (2-3 times a week) to prevent matting and grooming every 6-8 weeks. He is currently shaved, but his coat is growing out. If you are looking for a non shedding dog - Oliver is your guy! Thank you! | Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $525. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog).Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only.  To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved.  Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle. November 9, 2024, 1:59 am

Story
Please meet Milo The Poodle. Milo is a big, beautiful, sweet natured guy. He came from a small shelter in Texas where he was never reclaimed and was up for euthanasia. Milo is big, as stated, and comes in at 73 lbs. He’s a tall and thick boy, but he doesn’t throw his weight around. He’s house trained, well mannered on leash, doesn’t jump up, and is very affectionate with his people. Milo doesn’t enjoy being alone but he’s adapting well to crate training. He is dog friendly and we suspect he used to live with a Great Dane, as that’s what he entered the Texas shelter with. Milo hasn’t been tested with small kiddos or cats. Milo is being fostered in Mead, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/milo-poodle/.
