Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped. * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $1000 Lilo & Stitch – Your Perfect Partners in Puppy Chaos At just 12 weeks old and already 15 pounds of pure puppy energy, Lilo and Stitch are on a mission to turn every moment into an adventure. These Labradoodle siblings have the perfect balance of playfulness and snuggles—one minute, they’re zooming across the yard like caffeinated squirrels, and the next, they’re flopped over in a tangle of lanky legs, fast asleep. They wake up bright and early at 7 AM, eat breakfast at 8 AM, and then spend their mornings alternating between wrestling matches and staring at the resident dog, trying to convince them to play. Afternoons bring a serious naptime (puppy play is exhausting, after all), followed by dinner, a little TV time, and finally, bedtime between 9-10 PM. Just like babies, they still wake up a couple of times a night to use the bathroom, politely letting you know it’s time for a potty break. Now, let’s meet the pups individually: Lilo – The Free Spirit Lilo is the cool, independent sister who marches to the beat of her own drum. She’s got a mind of her own and is not above ignoring your commands if she has a better idea (which she usually does). While her brother needs a bit more reassurance, Lilo is perfectly fine taking a nap by herself and doesn’t make a fuss about it. She’s a bit more sensitive to loud noises, and if something startles her, she’ll give you the classic “Did you hear that?!” side-eye before cautiously investigating. Training is going at her own pace—she understands what you want, but she’s also considering whether she agrees with it. She’s playful, sweet, and just independent enough to keep you on your toes. Stitch – The Mischief Maker If there’s trouble to be found, Stitch is already in the middle of it. He’s the more adventurous of the two, always ready to explore (even places he probably shouldn’t). Unlike his sister, Stitch is more of a Velcro dog—he loves to be near his people and isn’t thrilled when he has to go into his crate alone. He’ll let out a few complaints before settling in, but he’s learning quickly. He’s playful, curious, and sometimes just a little bit sneaky—if you leave your socks unattended, he will claim them as his own. But at the end of the day, he’s a total lovebug who just wants to be close to his humans. Lilo and Stitch are both incredibly smart and are already working on their basic commands. They’re great with dogs, respectful of cats (after an initial “What is that?!” moment), and adore kids. They’re still figuring out house training but are making steady progress, especially at night. These puppies have long legs, big paws, and endless energy, so they’ll need a home that can keep up with their playful spirits. While they won’t be adopted together, they’d both thrive in homes with other dog companions or active families who can give them plenty of love and adventure. And yes, they did watch Lilo & Stitch for the first time, and yes, they were captivated—at least until the scary alien parts, at which point they decided chewing on a toy was a much safer activity. So, are you ready to welcome one of these lovable goofballs into your life?Puppies are only an option for a home that has had a dog in the last five years. If there are children they need to be over the 5 years old.February 12, 2025, 11:02 pm
