Story
Location: CyprusMeet our furry friend Saxon who has spent over a year in the pound, patiently waiting for a loving family. This lovable dog is eager to share tail-wagging moments, endless companionship, and unconditional love. They have a heart full of loyalty and are ready to become your lifelong companion. Saxon is low-maintenance, has shown he can be house-trained while in foster, and enjoys leisurely strolls and watching the sunset. He's the perfect match for someone who appreciates the joy of a calm, lazy day or going on an adventure. Saxon has worked with a dog behaviorist and has been muzzle trained. He would benefit as an only dog or introduced into a home of smaller female dogs very slowly. He cannot be in a home with cats. This courageous boy has overcome leishmaniasis with a wagging tail and a spirit that shines bright. We hope to find someone ready to open their heart and home and give this wonderful dog a second chance at a happy life. Let's make their journey from the pound to a warm, loving home a reality. Story
Location: Plainfield, NJTalk to the blep! My name is Quincy and I am here to steal your heart. I was yet another unclaimed stray so my backstory is a bit of a mystery but I am ready to write a new future! In a yard full of stuffies, you can still expect to find me near my favorite humans for some well deserved snuggles. My friends here at PAHS often use the terms loving and goofy to describe me :) I am a smart and independent boy who is ready to rule my very own castle...just call me King Quincy! His royal majesty may be ready to share the throne with a queen my size or larger. No kitty subjects allowed in my kingdom though please! Older children who will respect my space while I am eating would make wonderful family companions. Do you find yourself searching for some snorts, grunts, and grumbles to brighten your life? If so, I may be the perfect dog for you. Stop by the shelter and adopt me today! Contact Allison today! Story
Cherry is a lively 35-pound pit mix, just one year old and ready to fill your life with joy! This affectionate girl loves being around both people and other dogs, and doesn't mind sharing her space with cats either. We believe she would do best in an active home with older children. She enjoys doing zoomies around the yard, wrestling with her foster brothers, and following her foster family around. Cherry is a little nervous on a leash, but she's learning to walk on one and discover all the exciting places she can explore. Cherry would love to share a home with another dog that enjoys playing and would need a fenced-in yard while she's building her confidence to walk on-leash. She is crate-trained, house-trained, and working on her manners. If you're looking for a sweet little pocket pitty who has so much love to give, you've found the right girl. Adopters have 30 days of free access to 1-on-1 text and email support from trainers at Petcademy to help make every pet's transition into their new home as smooth as possible. All dogs available for adoption have been spayed/neutered, microchipped and are current on all vaccinations. Please email dogs@henricohumane.org for more information.

Story
Hello, my name is Diamond and I am a stunning young female dog with a gentle and quiet nature. I am so excited to find my forever home and I hope you are out there. I am affectionate and brave, but can be a little shy when I first meet someone. I warm up slowly with some calm assurance and TLC, and I am sure that I will be the most loving and loyal companion for you and your family. I am brand new to the shelter, and I am still adjusting to all of the loud noises and smells. It can be really overwhelming at times, but I am so grateful to have a warm and safe place to stay while I wait for my true family to find me. I must admit, I love other dogs! I love playing with them and snuggling up with them for naps. I'm sure I would get along with your furry friends at home too, given the chance. I'm the sweetest girl, I just need a little time and patience for my friendly and playful side to come out, but I really can't wait to meet you! I am a little shy and timid at first, but with time, patience, and lots of love, I know I will come out of my shell and realize that I am safe and sound. If you are looking for a sweet, gentle, and affectionate dog to join your family, look no further. I am ready to give and receive all the love in the world. If you are interested in sweet baby Diamond, visit the shelter or send an email to adoptpetersburg@gmail.com and include "Diamond" in the subject line.
