Story
Bella is a beautiful, rambunctious, playful, brat. She loves to snuggle, and be close to her person. I got her from a rescue, she was found as a puppy by the trash. She loves to run and be outside, and play with people and other dogs, she hasn't been around cats so I am not sure about her getting on with them. I have had to move to a different state leaving my father who is a disabled Army Veteran and can't take care of her. I could not bring with me as I too am disabled and am about to have 1-3 major surgeries and she loves to be on me, and I love to have her on me, but I can't heal, and care for her as she needs. She can high 5, and I have been working on ASL hand signals for sit, stay, and lay, but they still need some work. She is so wonderful and loving, but just a year old and needs so much love and attention but she is worth every moment you get to spend with her. We have another older dog who was abused, and they get on well, as long as Bella isn't being a brat.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Gus is a handsome big boy who was evaluated by our trainer, and she has nothing but good things to say about how well behaved he is. He adores all humans and older children. He loves to give kisses and has accidently knocked over a child or two due to his large size. He just doesn't realize how big he is and the amount of love he's giving!  This big boy is a goofball and really loves to play ball, go for short walks and lounge on the couch. He's able to entertain himself and is extremely lovable. Gus is extremely smart and knows sit, stay, place, leave it, shake, and spin. He was adopted 3 years ago and is now being returned due to not adjusting to the energy of the new dog his family brought home. Temporary dogs from fostering and dog sitting can be stressful for some dogs. Gus became jealous and unsettled. He needs a home that is stable and does not have a lot of dogs coming in and out. Right now, Gus will need to be adopted to an only dog home or a home that is willing to work with our positive reinforcement trainer to integrate everyone. Gus has been known to chase cats, so a no cat home as well.  If you're willing to give Gus a chance at forever, please apply at allieshaven.org. Any adoption will go through our thorough process to make sure the fit is perfect.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 10:19 pm

Story
It was a Saturday morning when I saw this post by a friend and something tugged on my heart to save sweet Brock. Look at that face!!! And while a picture speaks a thousand words, no amount of pictures can explain how incredibly sweet this guy is. Nicknamed â&#194&#128&#194&#156Love Bugâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 by the people in the shelter, Brock gives excellent cuddles and his face is incredibly â&#194&#128&#194&#156smoochable.â&#194&#128&#194&#157 He has plenty of energy and wants to play. He is absolutely a people pleaser. One look from those eyes and your heart melts. It is almost as if he knows he was in danger of being euthanized and is not about to lose one minute of this second chance at life! Toys? He loves them Treats? He eats them Walks? He takes them People? He adores them Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s been described as a â&#194&#128&#194&#156Gentle Giant.â&#194&#128&#194&#157 At approximately 4 years old and 66 pounds Brock needs someone who is good with a larger dog that has energy. He was recently neutered and is overcoming heartworm. His heartworm recovery will be complete at the end of September. As I work with him, train him, love him, and get to know him, Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ll update this bio with the latest adorable and wonderful things this special dog is doing. For now, all you need to know is thatâ&#194&#128¦â&#194&#128¦ â&#194&#128¦â&#194&#128¦â&#194&#128¦â&#194&#128¦â&#194&#128¦â&#194&#128¦.He is loving being loved, and he loves backâ&#194&#128¦â&#194&#128¦â&#194&#128¦â&#194&#128¦â&#194&#128¦â&#194&#128¦.. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
I'm just a girl looking for love! My name is Darla and I'm hoping for my fairytale ending! I'm very pretty if I do say so myself. I'm affectionate and love to snuggle up with my person while watching a movie. I'm really good at cuddling up with my person at night too. I'm an active girl who likes walks, running around the yard, playing with my toys and taking car rides. I'm a big girl at 60+ pounds but I think I'm a lap dog-so beware, I might try to crawl onto your lap! I'm currently hanging out with my foster and another female dog who is smaller than me (she's an Australian Cattle dog mix). I don't know about other furry critters (like cats) and how I would be around them. We have wild rabbits where I live and I enjoy barking at them but who knows what I might do if there wasn't a fence between us! The fence is a metal fence so I can see out and it's about 4 feet tall but it might be a good idea to have a taller fence to be sure I can't jump over. I've learned to go potty outside and on my walks. It helps me to have a dog door so I can go outside when I need to and avoid accidents. I have some experience with crate training so please be patient and help me with that training. I've also been to school where I learned about the basics of sit, stay, heel, place, loose leash walking and I got to participate in group classes with other dogs of various sizes and breeds. I'm a good girl and I try really hard to do the right things but I'm still young and need positive reinforcement to help me get better at the tasks I've learned. I get very excited when my person comes home-I wag my tail side to side with such energy that my butt wiggles! My person and I live with an older person and I have to be careful not to paw at this older person or jump up on her. I do not have experience around kids so I think it would be best if my forever family has older children or no children. My favorite toys are by a brand called Tuff and I like them because they hold up to my vigorous play. I also enjoy chasing balls and toys that squeak and have some rope parts to play tug of war. Electronics are great fun to bark and bite - for example, the vacuum and the paper shredder. I'm still young and impulsive sometimes. I am a chewer so I need some positive correction on what I am allowed to chew on and what I should not chew on. Some things that help me with that issue are cow knee treats, using training treats to reward good behavior, antlers and buffalo horns and of course lots of exercise! I sometimes bark at people I know; I'm just trying to get their attention, but I will need help with correcting this behavior. Please take a chance on me! I'm a sweetheart and I'm smart and can learn to be your best companion. Darla is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.
