Story
Hazel III is a loving and playful 2-year-old Staffordshire terrier, a small girl of about 40 lbs. She enjoys taking naps (complete with cute snores) near her human. She happily carries her favorite alligator toy around the house to keep her occupied. She loves giving kisses and cuddles. Potty trained, leash trained, crate trained, and has several cues down including 'sit'. She's a smarty and does well with training and engagement activities. Up to date on vaccines, microchipped and spayed. Her favorite pastime is running around the dog park with new friends and playing fetch. Great companion for hanging out on patios or cuddling up to watch a movie. She's a good sport about wearing clothes and just got a custom collar with her name on it. She's good with kids and visiting other dogs, and was around cats as a small puppy. Though she'd prefer to be the only apple of your eye. We are heartbroken to be looking for another home for her, but we have a senior dog who needs to be an only dog, and want the best for both of them. This girl is a people person and an absolute sweetheart. She listens well and is sure to be your best friend fast. She will make a great addition to your family. Story
I'm just a girl looking for love! My name is Darla and I'm hoping for my fairytale ending! I'm very pretty if I do say so myself. I'm affectionate and love to snuggle up with my person while watching a movie. I'm really good at cuddling up with my person at night too. I'm an active girl who likes walks, running around the yard, playing with my toys and taking car rides. I'm a big girl at 60+ pounds but I think I'm a lap dog-so beware, I might try to crawl onto your lap! I'm currently hanging out with my foster and another female dog who is smaller than me (she's an Australian Cattle dog mix). I don't know about other furry critters (like cats) and how I would be around them. We have wild rabbits where I live and I enjoy barking at them but who knows what I might do if there wasn't a fence between us! The fence is a metal fence so I can see out and it's about 4 feet tall but it might be a good idea to have a taller fence to be sure I can't jump over. I've learned to go potty outside and on my walks. It helps me to have a dog door so I can go outside when I need to and avoid accidents. I have some experience with crate training so please be patient and help me with that training. I've also been to school where I learned about the basics of sit, stay, heel, place, loose leash walking and I got to participate in group classes with other dogs of various sizes and breeds. I'm a good girl and I try really hard to do the right things but I'm still young and need positive reinforcement to help me get better at the tasks I've learned. I get very excited when my person comes home-I wag my tail side to side with such energy that my butt wiggles! My person and I live with an older person and I have to be careful not to paw at this older person or jump up on her. I do not have experience around kids so I think it would be best if my forever family has older children or no children. My favorite toys are by a brand called Tuff and I like them because they hold up to my vigorous play. I also enjoy chasing balls and toys that squeak and have some rope parts to play tug of war. Electronics are great fun to bark and bite - for example, the vacuum and the paper shredder. I'm still young and impulsive sometimes. I am a chewer so I need some positive correction on what I am allowed to chew on and what I should not chew on. Some things that help me with that issue are cow knee treats, using training treats to reward good behavior, antlers and buffalo horns and of course lots of exercise! I sometimes bark at people I know; I'm just trying to get their attention, but I will need help with correcting this behavior. Please take a chance on me! I'm a sweetheart and I'm smart and can learn to be your best companion. Darla is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Story
Hi! I'm Whisper, and not to brag or anything but I am a really smart pup. I love to be as close as I possibly can to people so I can get the maximum amount of pats and scratches possible! And if that means sitting on your head, I am perfectly willing to make that sacrifice. I LOVE LOVE LOVE going to dog parks and playing with other dogs. I really like to be with dogs that can run fast so we can play chase! Fetch is also one of my love languages. I'm kennel trained, and I'll even go hang out in my kennel on my own to just chill sometimes. I'm a master at all of the basic commands. I'm even getting a hang of "leave it and "wait during mealtime! I'be pretty much nailed potty training at this point. So long as I know my bathroom schedule I can stick to it! Though I might forget every once in a while that I just went #2 and step in it without thinking. Then I have to go in the dreaded tub of hot water. My last thing I'm still working on with my foster parents is gentle play time. I'm a rugby player at heart so I just assume everyone wants to play tackle! But if I get some of my energy out before playing others that helps a ton. All in all I just want a home where I can run and maybe play with another pup or two! I am sure I will find that some day! Whisper is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Story
Jasmine, adopted from Houston's Barc shelter in 2020, is about 7 years old now, with an unknown past likely involving recent motherhood prior to being fixed. At home, she's a cuddle bug, especially with men, but is vocal around big trucks and strangers at the door. She greets visitors with enthusiasm, then quickly becomes submissive, rolling around playfully. She is a very high energy dog. I took her for walks everyday as well as some occasional runs. She can run very fast for a very long time, pulling most of the way. IMPORTANT: The reason why we are rehoming her is because she recently had an incident in which she bit a four year old child. We reported the bite and she spent 10 days in quarantine observation. After investigation she was approved for rehoming. Prior to that she has had several issues with dogs. She is considered a reactive dog, which means she should be kept away from all other dogs. She has not bitten another dog unprovoked, but has when she has felt threatened.

Story
It was a Saturday morning when I saw this post by a friend and something tugged on my heart to save sweet Brock. Look at that face!!! And while a picture speaks a thousand words, no amount of pictures can explain how incredibly sweet this guy is. Nicknamed Love Bug by the people in the shelter, Brock gives excellent cuddles and his face is incredibly smoochable! Brock is crate trained & enjoys his daytime naps but has also has plenty of energy and wants to play. He is absolutely a people pleaser. One look from those eyes and your heart melts. It is almost as if he knows he was in danger of being euthanized and is not about to lose one minute of this second chance at life! Toys? He loves them Treats? He eats them Walks? He takes them People? He adores them He has been described as a Gentle Giant.; At approximately 4 years old and 66 pounds Brock needs someone who is good with a larger dog that has energy. All this guy wants is Love!

Hi, I'm Bella. I was once a very loved girl, but then my person passed away and the nieces/nephews couldn't keep me. I am perfect in the house. I love my kennel, and I am perfectly housebroken. I like to be close to my person/people, but I don't have to be right in your lap. I'm not a clingy girl. And if you work and cannot be with me all day, no sweat! I can chill and wait for you to come home. I LOVE exploring outdoors! Oh and I also love car rides. I'm Schnauz-a-Staff!!! Part Schnauzer, part Staffordshire Terrier. A cool fact about me is I have a white mohawk that blends into a shag that runs down my whole body! There's nothing out there like me! No sir!  This is what my trainer/boarder person says about me: Bella is easy to get along with and her personality matches her unique and fun appearance. She thrives with rules & guidance and really enjoys being in nature and exploring. She is very intelligent and loves to learn. She is a low-medium energy girl.  If you want to make Bella yours, please "Start your inquiry". Story
SPECIAL POST for a SPECIAL GIRL Sweet, sweet Tangier, originally came from a high kill shelter and was adopted 3 years ago. The family has decided their home is too busy for her and their life has changed in a way they do not feel they are able to give her the time and attention she reserves.  Tangier is a spayed female Staffordshire/American Pitbull terrier mix, this sweet "Staffie" is 6 1/2 years old and weighs 63 pounds. She is black with beautiful white markings on her face, chest and paws. She is crate and house trained and very well behaved in the house. She can be trusted to have free roam of the house while her family is away. Her crate remains open because she loves to rest in it as her special den. Tangier is ready to hang out for a good nap on the couch near her favorite people. She doesn’t need a lot of exercise but LOVES a fun walk or car ride. Her family reports that she has never so much as ripped up a toy and is very well behaved. She greets people gently and if you’re approved may present her rump for a scratch. She is not a needy dog, just more of a quiet companion.  Tangier is gentle and sweet with other dogs, loves her toys and sleeping in her fluffy bed. Tangier is looking for her forever home where she will be a treasured and loved member of the family forever, If you think this wonderful girl might be your soul mate, please complete an application on our website and her foster mom will be in touch. Tangier is spayed, UTD on vaccinations, and Micro Chipped. She is heartworm negative.  If you think this angel might fit in at your place, please complete an application on our website and her foster mom will be in touch.       Apply for her today at https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/       We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. Story
This sweet girl is an unaltered 1 and a half years old. She fell into my lap almost a year ago and she was 6 months old. I was told she was up to date on shots when I got her so she would be coming up due for more. She cuddles and plays great with both my young girls. I have 2 other dogs and my other female dog is being aggressive towards her. She is a younger dog so she does jump when you first walk in the door but quickly calms down and spends most of her time snoring. She knows sit and is crate and potty trained. She loves to play but loves to sleep even more.
