Penny is a deeply loving, kind-hearted dog with so much affection to give. She adores people of all ages, including kids, and has a special talent for making humans feel loved. Whether it’s playtime, learning a new trick, or giving you the best cuddles of your life, Penny is happiest when she’s close to her people. When it comes to other dogs, Penny is selective. She has successfully lived with other dogs, but she has dog aggression with some dogs, so introductions must be extremely cautious and ideally with a knowledgeable and experienced owner. Absolutely no cats or small dogs. I worked with a behavioral trainer who specializes with aggressive cases. The trainer saw Penny as a hopeful candidate, not a lost cause by any means, and believed strongly in her ability to continue improving with the right guidance. Unfortunately, the cost of ongoing training exceeded my budget. She is a good dog with a big heart who deserves a home that sees her potential and loves her for who she is.

An Affectionate Heart Looking for Belonging Sephira is a 3-year-old, 35-pound Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix who has just recently joined us after her previous shelter no longer had the space to care for her. She is still new to our program, and the information we have so far comes from the staff who knew her at the prior shelter. According to those notes, Sephira is a smallish staffy mix with a very friendly and affectionate personality. She was described as social with people and enjoyed positive interaction and attention. The prior shelter also shared that Sephira did well with the dogs she met in their care, showing comfortable and appropriate behavior in a shelter environment. As we spend more time getting to know her, we look forward to learning more about her personality, but her early impressions suggest a sweet, approachable dog who enjoys connection and companionship.
