When our founder was contacted about Maple's story she knew we needed to help. Maple has spent most of her life, over ONE YEAR, in a shelter in a small and dirty kennel run. Despite her rough start in Texas, Maple is as sweet as syrup and will no longer be overlooked. She is thriving in foster! She loves to hang under her foster mom's desk while she does zoom calls and chill in the yard in her jammies. As you can see by her photos, she loves to snooze and play!
Her name is especially appropriate because she has "sticky fingers" when it comes to tennis balls - she is obsessed with them! She loves to play her version of fetch, where you throw it once, and she races to pick it up, but she never actually brings the ball back to you. She prefers to hold on to it herself and will run around with it in her mouth for ages-no need to throw it again! She does like it if you chase after her for it so she can show off her keep-away skills. She's an EXPERT! Another great love of Maple's is treats. The only way we found to get a ball back from her is to offer her a treat! She's got to drop the ball to eat it, after all!
Maple came into the shelter wearing a harness, so she had an owner at one point. Unfortunately, she had no identification, and no owners ever came looking. She has had some potty training and will sit on command if you have her attention and loves to learn new tricks and commands. She's done great picking up training cues in just s short time.
Maple will need to be the only pet in the home.
To apply to adopt, fill out an application at www.rescueallthedogs.org/adopt. Please note that RnR is a volunteer-based organization. While volunteers review applications as quickly as possible, it is helpful if you review the following information about our adoption process:LISTED BREED(S) & AGE: We are taking our best guess on age, breed, and size when fully grown based on the dog's physical appearance and what we might have learned about one or both parents. We rarely know a dog's exact age or full breed mix of dogs, as our information is usually limited.RNR’s ADOPTION PROCESS: The first step in adopting or meeting one of our adoptable pups is to fill out an application at www.rescueallthedogs.org/adopt. Once we receive your application, one of our volunteers will contact you, review our adoption process, and answer any additional questions you may have. It is important to note that we do not go on a first-come-first-serve basis for adoptions but on the best fit for a family and, most importantly, the dog.MEETING ADOPTABLE DOGS: Meet and greets will not be scheduled until your adoption application is submitted and reviewed.APPLYING ONLINE: When completing an application, please do so from a computer (not a mobile device); make sure you answer ALL the questions in as much detail as possible and that you receive a confirmation email.
