Story
We adopted Rocky from a kill shelter in Tennessee. We adopted him as a puppy in hopes that we could introduce him to our cats that we had previously adopted years ago. They tolerated each other at first, but since getting older it has gotten worse. We took him to a board and train program nearby for training on walking without pulling on his leash and obedience training. He is very smart and very trainable. He loves to play with his chew toys and pull toys. He is very sweet. He responded very well to training and had only one incident with a dog at the training school but the trainer was by his side correcting him. That was the first time I had heard of him being aggressive toward another dog, a female. We have in the past introduced him to our friend's dog, a male, and they did fine.. Rocky has been very good with our kids as well. It's just the issue with the other pets in the house.

Story
Hello!!! Thank you for checking me out! My foster mom says I am absolutely perfect and the sweetest dog she has ever met! If you are looking for care free, easy going, full contact cuddler of a dog, that's me!!! I absolutely adore my humans and want to be with them all the time! I love going for walks, car rides, and I make an excellent running buddy despite my little legs! Watching TV and snuggling is my absolute favorite, you will never be on the couch alone again! And I am a petite little girl that won't take up too much of the couch... or your lap... or the bed. I love every person I meet and always have a huge smile on my face! I love going into my crate because there are always yummy snacks in there! And toys are my favorite! Especially the ones with the squeakers that I rip out in seconds. I do prefer to be the only dog in the house as I want all the attention to myself. I would love to be part of your family and keep you entertained all day long!!! We do not have a facility for you to visit.  WE PROCESS APPLICANTS AND SET APPOINTMENTS BASED ON THE ORDER APPLICATIONS ARE RECEIVED , so while you are welcome to email  ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, you will want to complete the  ONLINE APPLICATION ASAP ,  which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find  a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10 day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fee is $220 for adults, $295 for puppies (under 6 months), and $150 for seniors (8 yrs and up) which covers the cost of the spay/neuter, age appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. The majority of dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers, so there is often very little known about their history or even current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC provides a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, as well as telephone support.   November 4, 2024, 12:41 pm

Story
Meet Yahtzee: The Sweet Sidekick with a Heart of Gold! Introducing Yahtzee, a delightful grey pit bull with striking brown eyes and adorable floppy ears, whose story of resilience and sweetness will capture your heart. Found living in an abandoned home during the cold winter months alongside her canine family, Yahtzee’s journey from survival to thriving is nothing short of inspiring. What Makes Yahtzee Special? Yahtzee is the epitome of sweetness and loyalty. This charming girl is not just a pet; she’s a companion, ready to be by your side as your devoted sidekick. Her laid-back and chill demeanor makes her a perfect match for someone looking for a relaxed and affectionate friend. A Love for Comfort and Adventure: Yahtzee adores snuggling and finds joy in the simple pleasures of life, like cozying up for movie nights or basking in the sun on lazy afternoons. However, her love for adventure means she’s always ready for a car ride or a new exploration, making her a wonderful travel companion for all your adventures, big and small. Well-Mannered and Sociable: Fully potty trained and proficient in basic commands, Yahtzee is a dream to have around the house. She walks beautifully on a leash, adding to the ease of taking her out and about. While she enjoys the company of other dogs, she flourishes with a proper introduction, showing her polite and friendly nature. Ideal Home for Yahtzee: Yahtzee would thrive in a home that loves a balance of relaxation and adventure. She does well with older children who can appreciate her calm energy and contribute to her sense of security and happiness. A family that can offer her plenty of love, gentle interactions, and the occasional adventure would be perfect for this sweet girl. Why Adopt Yahtzee? Adopting Yahtzee means welcoming a soulful companion who will enrich your life with loyalty, love, and lots of tail wags. She’s ready to give back all the love she receives and more, promising to be a faithful friend through thick and thin. Ready to give Yahtzee the loving home she deserves? She’s waiting to fill your life with joy, companionship, and plenty of cuddles. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption.
