Story
Sally is an excitable girl who loves to play! She can get carried away sometimes and has a hard time settling once she gets going, but when given a proper outlet for her energy she's a super sweet dog with a lot of love to give. She's the type of dog who will do best with multiple forms of enrichment-- including walks, treat games, puzzle toys, and eventually more adventurous activities like hiking!OTHER PETS: Sally did not appreciate other dogs coming into her space and being pushy with her, but she was much more relaxed when meeting a calmer dog, so it's possible she could do well with a calm dog in the home. [Case-By-Case (Must Meet First)] NO CATSOWNER EXPERIENCE: Someone who has experience with high energy dogs would be ideal for Sally. [Experienced]KIDS: Because of her energy level and a tendency to jump when she's excited, Sally would do best with kids that are old enough to not be knocked over easily and can understand how to interact with her. [15+ (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Sally is a high-energy dog and will need healthy ways to channel her energy--including mental enrichment--to ensure that she does not create her own entertainment. Some activities she might enjoy are: multiple daily walks, puzzle boxes, treat games, or even dog sports and hiking. [Olympic Athlete]VETERINARY CARE: [Routine]LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED:Sally is still at the beginning of her positive reinforcement training journey, and will do best learning with someone who can offer both patience and confidence while she adjusts. Positive reinforcement training will help Sally not only learn her basic cues, but also help her to feel more comfortable and confident in herself! It will provide a good opportunity for her to bond with her new owner as well. [Moderate / Intense]GROOMING: [Minimal]January 23, 2025, 8:02 pm

If you would like to apply to take Patti home, click the link next to their picture, or Visit our website at Www.godogsgorescue.org and fill out an application! We look forward to hearing from you. Patti is around 7 months old, she is what should be referred to as a ‘small circle dog’ meaning she isn’t a social butterfly that will enjoy new people or a busy household. She’s a little more than just shy or timid. We are looking for a patient and nurturing household for Patti that will be happy to do some empowerment training with her which we would provide to help her build her confidence. Patti is great with other dogs, housetrained, and currently tends to gravitate towards her foster dad, we do feel a child free household would be the least stressful for her and will require this. Time, patience and commitment to her wellbeing will be key in her new home.

Story
Pebbles is a wonderful girl, 4 years old. She is 55 lbs. She has lived with kids and small dogs but she was too high energy for the smaller dogs to play with her. A dog closer to her size to play might be a good fit. She has not lived with cats and she has too much energy for them anyway. She will follow you around, loves people and loves to lay on the couch and sleep with you. She loves kids but can knock them down in her excitement. Due to her energy, she needs a fenced in yard and someone that is home often to let her out and spend time with her. This cat is waiting for it's Forever Home! Email adoptions@ctcatconnection.org with a question or better yet, complete an application for quickest consideration. (Application: https://www.ctcatconnection.org/adoption-application/). Please consider fostering a cat or dog by applying on our website.A cat's behavior in the shelter is usually not what it will be like in your home; if the cat is nervous, anxious, or agitated, please know that a shelter is a very stressful place for a cat.Kitten Policy: It is important to understand that the socialization of kittens with other animals as playmates is important for their development. Therefore, CT Cat Connection has a policy that kittens and teenagers up to 12 months of age are adopted in pairs unless there is another animal in the household as a playmate and companion.Due to demand, we cannot place cats or kittens on hold. Your visit to the shelter is to meet any cat or kitten available for adoption at the time of visit. If you or anyone you know is interested in helping the shelter, we are always looking for foster families of our cats and dogs, as well as in-person volunteers, to assist with animal care. Fill out an application, which can be found at https://www.ctcatconnection.org/get-involved/

Story
Tyson is a 6 year old pittie/black mouth cur mix whom Ive only had under a year. Im going to be completely honest unlike his previous owner because I want him to find the right home where he can be happy. He has absolutely zero aggression, but he does have some non-aggressive dominance issues. He humps every dog he meets, but stops after initial introduction. He doesnt like being home without people..I do work full time though, so I think he would love a stay at home parent or someone who can bring him to work. I love this dog and hate having to rehome, but I know hes unhappy with my lifestyle and I want whats best for him. I also think he has anxiety, and he likes to chew(ie. blankets, plushie toys, dog beds). Otherwise he is an amazing dog, he just needs someone who has time to tend to his quirks. He knows simple commands: sit, lay, stay, paw. There will be a screening process so he hopefully doesnt end up continuing to jump home to home. For more info feel free to contact me

Story
Available in TX only! Meet Max Cooper, a captivating white pup with soulful eyes that speak volumes despite his deafness. While he can't hear, he's mastered the art of being a joyful canine companion. Max exudes energy and affection, enjoying walks and playtime, especially his favorite pastime: fetch. Despite his disability, he embraces life with enthusiasm, embodying resilience and love. Max thrives on human interaction, craving a caring companion to share adventures with. He's an adventurous spirit who adores riding in cars and exploring new places. Yet, Max is also a devoted cuddler, content to keep you company on the couch, his gentle nature shining through in every snuggle session. His harmonious interactions extend to both humans and fellow furry friends, often seen frolicking with playful puppies. Max is a testament to the indomitable spirit of rescue dogs, proving that love knows no bounds, and every pup deserves a chance to find their forever home. We do recommend a home without young children due to his special needs. Max has not been cat tested, but we know he loves dogs! He is microchipped, fully vaccinated, & neutered. He is being fostered in Seguin, TX and is ready for his new home. To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link.
