Story
Papi is up for adoption or foster!! We would like to introduce you to the sweetest dog around...Papi! He is a 6-year-old Staffordshire Terrier who is looking for his very own home after living 5 of his 6 years in boarding under a local Lincoln rescue organization. When a few of us heard of Papi's situation we knew that we could not continue to allow him to live his remaining years in a cold kennel run. He is the most deserving sweet dog and needs a home to call his very own. Because Papi has not had socialization like a normal dog we decided to raise funds to pull him out of boarding and send him to behavioral training. He is currently in training and is doing so well and we are all so proud of the progress he has made. He wants to do good so badly and has been a very good student. He is currently learning leash training and he has been doing well with a fancy leash that has him all about being under control! He is also being muzzle-conditioned so he can safely interact with the other dogs at the training facility. Because we don't know a lot about how Papi is with other dogs this is the safest and best way for him to interact so we can see what needs to be worked on! Currently, Papi is learning impulse control and how to be a dog as he has not played with or interacted with any for the last 5 years. Papi will need a foster or adopter who will be dedicated to continuing his training going forward and who will be a strong leader for him! There must be no kitties in the house as he is not a fan and doesn't appreciate sharp kitty claws! Papi is also working on his social skills. We are in no way saying that he can never be with another dog, we are saying that under the right conditions (owner and demeanor of another dog) he may be compatible but that would be under the right circumstances. Currently, he has been controlled and has not shown major aggression but of course, we want to be completely safe as he is just learning how to make friends! We want his next home to be the last one he will ever need in his life! That being said...this is what you will get if you adopt Papi: 1- A forever best friend and sidekick, a devoted dog that will go on walks, runs, or hikes! 2- A snuggle buddy and couch potato. 3- A dog that will know that you saved his life and because of that he will be 100% dedicated to you. 4- Did I mention a snuggle buddy? 5- THE best hugger ever! 6- Last but not least...you will have given him what NO ONE else has stepped up to do...a life. A life with a warm couch and soft pets, an opportunity to roll in the grass and get belly scratches, a life outside a concrete floor, and a hard plastic bed. You will have saved his life! If you are interested in adopting Papi or would like more information please email Tara at taraschmidt74@gmail.com. We would love to put you in touch with his personal trainer (and not the bodybuilding kind!) so you can see if Papi would be the perfect fit for you! Please feel free to check him out on Facebook...he is currently at S&B Kountry Kennels in Glenwood, IA. He is a fan favorite there and loves to show off his playfulness and the skills he has learned! They update frequently and you can follow his progress!...or better yet go out and meet him personally, he loves all the attention but you better bring the treats! I guarantee once you meet this kid...the deal will be done and he will steal your heart! Most of all we want to find Papi his forever home and only YOU can help make that happen! Please share far and wide and help get this boy a place to call his own! Please Note: A Cross post designates that this dog is under the care & ownership of another rescue/shelter in Lincoln. If you are interested in adopting Papi, please contact Tara at taraschmidt74@gmail.com  for any questions regarding Papi or to apply to adopt Papi. Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue is not directly adopting this pet but helping broadcast them to a wider range of potential adopters. ##1887411##

Story
Bella is a young puppy born in May 2024. She is a Staffordshire Terrier and enjoys being active.  She is looking for a home with a fenced yard to play in and someone who will patiently teach her good manners as she grows up.   Bella already knows some commands, and is crate and leash trained.   Because she is still a puppy, she will tend to get herself in trouble if left alone in the house without being in her crate.  In exchange for your love and attention, Bella with reward you with snuggles and lots of kisses.   The suggested adoption donation for Bella is $415, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.   Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.   To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.    Alter Agreement: If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital or Omaha Animal Medical Group in Omaha, at no cost to you. Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost. If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, the adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice. If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses. All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age. All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.   ##2240617##

Story
COURTESY POST FOR A VERY SPECIAL BOY!  Papi is a 7-year-old Staffordshire Terrier that needs a forever home. He has a story that most won't believe and is incredibly sad. Papi has lived his entire life in a kennel. He has never experienced his own person, couch, bed, or backyard. He quite simply was failed. He was first failed by the people who promised to raise him and give him all the things that he deserved. Papi was then failed a second time by a local rescue in Lincoln Nebraska that took him in and promised him a home. They did not do what a rescue is supposed to do when they take responsibility of an animal in need. This rescue left Papi in a kennel run without any daily social interaction with other dogs and very little interaction with people. They did very little to get his information out to the public. They gave up on him. To say that we are amazed that Papi is as kind and gentle as he is...well that is an understatement. Papi was deemed a dangerous dog and that sealed his fate. He was not trained. He was not tested with other animals. He was labeled and due to that, he sat waiting. He still would be waiting had I not pulled him from this awful life. He would still be sitting there had Joe not taken a leap of faith in this unbelievable dog. Shockingly enough the location that boarded Papi had a trainer on site but the rescue did not care enough to do the work and have anyone work with Papi to see who he really was. It's sad and it makes me so angry. So much time wasted. Papi is now in Glenwood Iowa at S&B Kountry Kennel with Joe and living a life so much better than before but still is not what I wish for him....he needs the couch and the person. Papi is not a dangerous dog, he is quite the opposite. Papi is up to date on all his vaccines, he is neutered, microchipped, and heartworm-negative. Papi has no known illnesses and does not have issues with allergies like some terriers experience. He can be playful and he can be lazy, but what he really wants is to be loved and give hugs. Papi gives the very best hugs! He is the perfect size, not too big and not too small. He is muzzle-trained and leash-trained and is very very smart. We stand behind Papi. For this reason, the person who steps up to be his hero will never be alone in their journey with Papi because we will support them and Papi in any way we can. S&B is offering 4 free training sessions to his potential adopters if they are interested! Plus we love the big lug and would be devastated to not have some special part in his life! You can visit Papi in pictures and videos on S&B Kountry Kennel 's facebook page. I will also leave some videos in comments! Please be Papi's hero. He has waited way too long and half of his life is over...he NEEDS to have a forever home. I am begging... please share with friends, family, loved ones! Let's all come together and show this baby what the power of love and sharing can do. Let's find Papi a home! If you are interested in adopting Papi or would like more information please email  taraschmidt74@gmail.com     PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org/adoption-application We do not have a facility. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals. We are a state licensed, 501c3 nonprofit rescue and the adoption donation may be tax deductible for you.  Thank you for choosing adoption!! November 5, 2024, 1:39 am

Story
Ace is a young Staffy, born 02/07/2023. This goofy charmer likes to sit back and thoughtfully watch everyone else play, and then decide if he wants to join in.  He loves to play in the yard, take nice, long naps, snuggle and have enrichment time with toys and snuffle mats!  When out for a walk, Ace loves exploring; therefore, he will need a 6-foot fence to prevent him going off on his own.  Due to his enthusiastic playing, we recommend there be no young children in his new home.  When bored, Ace has a tendency to get into trouble so he is now kenneled when unsupervised.  Ace is working on his confidence and hopes his new family will continue to help him grow.  If Ace sounds like the right dog for you, check out the information below.  The suggested adoption fee for Ace is $365. Bullies-N-Beyond ResQ Inc. is a 501(c)3, non-profit corporation that is 100% volunteer operated. Adoption donation fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. All dogs adopted through BNBR will have been administered their age appropriate vaccines which may include DHPP, Rabies, Lepto and Bordetella. All dogs will also be adopted out as already altered if of age, for those not of age, a voucher will be provided. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. BNBR does not adopt on a first serve basis. All available dogs are adopted based on their needs to provide the best fit home. ##1756744##

Story
Spud is a Staffy mix, born August 8, 2024. He is learning all the basic things about being a dog. He’s smaller than his siblings and very shy but once he warms up, his real personality comes through. He is very cuddly, eager to please, and excited to learn – which is coming in handy for potty training, basic commands, and kennel conditioning. He seems to get along well with other dogs, as he has a male foster brother who is teaching him the ropes. He’s still figuring out what all the sounds in the neighborhood are and doesn’t seem to have much interest in the small animals around – like squirrels, so may be good for a family with cats. He wakes up from naps and nighttime sleeps with a dry kennel and is almost sleeping through the entire night without waking up to go outside. He’ll make a family looking for a chill dog very happy. ##2226165##
