Story
Senior pup Medusa is a barrel of a sweetheart! She is loving and affectionate to every person and child that she meets. Curling up on the couch with her family watching TV is her favorite place to be. When Medusa goes outside she takes a deep breath as if appreciating all the fresh air and sunshine. Medusa is an older gal, 12 years old Estimated DOB 8/11/2011), approximately 50lbs,and a medium sized, stout, gal. We would love to find a lifetime foster or adopter to let her live out the rest of her days. She does need to be the only dog in the home. Medusa is truly a great one that would make a wonderful and loving companion. Meet her today: www.dirtroaddoggiesrescue.org ##660515##

Story
Tink Tink loves people and attention. She is very food motivated and would be easily trained.  Tink Tink is special in that she really loves men, but don't worry ladies, she still wants all the affection you and kids (older she tends to jump) have to offer.  She definitely does not want any cats in the household to share her attention.  We are listing her as dog selective (interested in them) because she is not truly socialised with dogs,  but could respond well to training and patience. She is crate trained and has not had any accidents in the house. We estimate she was born in early 2016 and is med/large at 45-50 lbs. Tink Tink is a strong girl that doesn't know her size, so someone who can handle and direct her wiggly energy would be ideal. This big ol' lovebug has been waiting a long time to be part of a family.  Tink Tink would love a foster or forever home. Meet this wiggle bottom today: dirtroaddoggiesrescue.org ##660285##

Story
Maren’s foster family says that she is just about the sweetest foster dog they have ever had! Life has not always been kind to her. Somehow, she ended up abandoned. But you would never know by the way she craves human and doggy connections. She is a young, fun-loving dog who wants to love and be loved. Maren’s foster family has learned that she is: Great with other dogs (submissive) Loves people-even strangers Good with kids Sits nicely for treats and is doing great with her “no jump” training!  Potty trained Crate trained  Not much of a barker She loves to play and run outside but will be happy to chew on her toys near you, as well.  Super loving! Loves tennis balls & sweaters Maren is not wild about: Cold weather Cats  Maren’s foster family is hoping she can find a furever home where she can feel safe and loved in return for bringing joy and fun to her family! Story
Ebbie is one of our longtime guests, recently reaching the 6-year mark. He lives in his own air-conditioned, heated cottage on the property and has a little courtyard in which to sun himself. But, a shelter is not a home, no matter how "special" your digs are. Everything about Ebbie is solid -- his stature, his energy, the confidence with which he carries himself. He's a guy who attaches deeply to his human, sometimes a little too deeply, causing him to feel like he needs to protect them from strangers. For that reason, Ebbie, 10, would do well in a low-traffic, lower-stress home. He would thrive with a routine and a little structure to his days. He likes knowing what to expect, as do we. He is very loyal and endearing and he adores his shelter friends. He knows his basic commands and is polite and self-assured. He loves to lounge around and take it slow.

Story
Rocco is about 1.5 yrs old. He was a court case/ removed from a neglectful home. He spent 4 months at the Dekalb County Animal Shelter. We adopted him with the understanding that he was dog and kid friendly. However we were not sure if he was good with cats. Unfortunately, after 4 months of trying to desensitize him from our 3 cats, including training sessions in home and on site thru K-9 pHD, we have realized that we are unable to remove the prey drive out of him. He is otherwise very sweet. He is also high energy. He would be a great fit for someone with another dog (although we have struggled finding him a playmate that can handle his level of enthusiasm), a yard and kids to play with.

Story
Meet Mateo! Someone found him with a badly broken leg, and the man he was microchipped to said to euthanize him. Now his leg has been amputated, and he is up to date on all his shots. About him: * Super sweet. * Loves to give kisses, smile, and cuddle. * Rarely barks. * Potty-trained. * Short fur and doesn’t seem to shed a lot! * Barely chews anything, and loves toys, fetch, and peanut butter. * NEVER scratches on door or whines. * Good with some other dogs while outside (He does grumble and get territorial inside, so he needs to be in a house that is cat and dog free, but NO aggression ever with people). * Not phased by thunder. * Loves to run. (Even with missing back right leg, he does wonderful!) * Waits for me in bed at night when I go out the back door. * Needs to work on walking by your side, which should be easy to teach him if alone. (I have several dogs so always I walk two at a time!) He weighs 50ish lbs, and is 2 years old. He is honestly a perfect boy with people.
