Story
We adopted Lola 7 years ago from a shelter, who told us she wasn’t treated the best by her previous owners. She is still a very nervous dog, but incredibly sweet. We do not want to put her back in a shelter so hopefully we can find another loving home for her. She is 10 years old, so technically a senior, but doesn't act old. She is healthy with no problems and is showing no signs of slowing down.

Story
This super happy, smiling dog is pilot,#a5619739. He is now Concord ( see what we did there?). He is a sweet amazing 10-year-old staffy that we rescued from the Baldwin Park shelter. He came into the shelter in April and he had some sort of wound on his leg, which was treated by their staff. he is a staff and volunteer favorite. we wanted to pull him but we couldn't find anyone to Foster him. We finally found a Foster and then, literally in the 11th hour, the Foster couldn't take the dog. We happened to get one of our dogs into foster and we were able to take him.  Someone did step up to foster temporarily.  We do nee to find him a forever home. he is simply the best!  he is loving, sweet, gets along with all dogs, is housebroken...what more could you ask for!  adopt today! ##2099886##

Story
AVAILABLE and ready for her forever home!  Christmas has been in foster since, well, christmas time.  She is a great dog.  She would benefit from being in a home where someone works from home or there is another dog.  She gets lonely, and a little destructive ( at least in her current home), when by herself.  We should have named this dog continuation because we kept having to postpone our pull date for her! This is sweet lady bug, now Christmas.  She arrived in the shelter on January 2nd and they immediately put out a deadline for her to be euthanized. we emailed and said this is ridiculous, and asked for time to find a foster. they did! And it took us 3 weeks. It took us that long but finally we found a wonderful couple who are willing to take ladybug, now Christmas, into their home. this is her picture on her Freedom ride. look how happy she is. she definitely has to medical issues and we're going to take care of that as we always do. we are so glad to offer her the best of the rest of her life ##2099888##

Story
cylde is an approximately 5 year old staffie who came to the shelter back in November of 2023! We rescued him in July of 2024. He is biggest love bug and quite a goofball!  he loves to play with water and wade in his kiddie pool. He is great with large and small dogs. At the shelter he was passed over again and again.  blue nose pits are a dime a dozen and he is a senior. plus, when he first arrived that the shelter, he was scared and confusd in a kennel.  Shelter staff said he was grouchy until he was neutered. he was always a delight with volunteers. of course,   he didn't have an exit date but we knew it was looming overhead.  We found a foster home and rescued him. however, the foster can't keep him and we have no where for him to go!  He is back at our sancutary, but we really want him to have a home!  There are so many senior dogs that need our help.  We want the friendly, healthyl loving dogs to get homes so we can have room to save more!    t ##2131536##

Story
Polly Pocket is thee cutest 1.5 year old mini, weighing in at 35lbs. She was DNA tested by Embark, and her mixture is Staffordshire Terrier and Bulldog, hence why she’s so small! She came into the shelter as a stray, with no chip or collar and no one ever came for her. She was getting overlooked and started to develop a URI which put her on the euthanasia list. One of our long time fosters spotted Polly while at the shelter and said she was the cutest, most quiet dog, incessantly wagging her tail. She knew she couldn’t leave Polly behind! That same foster who rescued her has been her foster mom. This is her loving description of Polly: Polly is the most charming girl with the best personality and so much love to give. She is obsessed with all humans she meets - men, women, children, anyone! She gets so excited and wiggles so much when she gets your attention, along with endless kisses and cuddles. Sweet Polly needed a lot of work after coming of the shelter and hadn’t ever walked on a leash. She has the deepest eagerness to learn and please her humans. Polly is now completely potty trained, leash trained, crate trained (though she prefers to sleep with her humans in bed) and knows her basic commands. She will learn anything quickly if it means making you happy and getting treats! It was also very clear Polly had lived on the streets for sometime as she was slick at digging in the trash, can eat anything and was/is very scared of most dogs, especially big energy dogs. She fell in love with her very calm, loving foster brother Freddie and played with him most hours of the day with so much joy (who recently and very suddenly passed away — she is so sad and misses him so much). The dream is that Polly has a bigger, very calm and tolerant dog like him, but with enough people in the home to adore her, she might also enjoy being an only pup. She is it very quick, athletic and energetic dog — jokingly nicknamed “parkour pup” or a circus dog has she spins and twirls as she jumps off walls and corners of furniture while running around. She can even climb trees! She could easily have a career in agility and will do great in a home with a backyard to run off that energy. Lastly, she is an excellent alert dog to suspicious characters but otherwise doesn’t bark much. She loves chewing on her toys and will do anything to play tugowar with you. As much as she loves playing, she also loves to cuddle and nap with her humans. This girl loves nothing more than sitting in front of a space heater on a cold night and getting as hot as possible while nodding off, while sitting up. She has met cats and is indifferent to them. She cannot contain herself when she sees children and wants to greet and lick them but because of her very high energy, jumpy nature, we don’t think she should be with any kids younger than 12. We are requiring a family or individual who has lots of time to give her, will create a wonderful, consistent structure and give her all the love and attention.
