Story
Puppy Reese is irresistibly sweet! Reese is estimated to be around 3 months old and is the sweetest boy! He lives for food, and if you have treats, you have his full attention. He is a sweet and sensitive guy who is looking for a dedicated family to help him blossom. He is still learning all the ropes of how to be a good boy and needs a family who is committed to continuing to work on all his training. Reese weighs about 25-30lbs now, and we estimate he will be at least 60-70lbs when fully grown. Reese came to us with his three siblings from a partner rescue, BONES. BONES is located in a rural part of Northern California and works to help the large population of stray and feral dogs in their area. Reese and his siblings were found without their mom on the nearby Native American reservation. BONES took them in and then they were transferred to us so they could find their fur-ever homes. These kiddos need individual homes so they can get the one-on-one time they need. Reese is the smallest of the boys and the sweetheart of the group. While he can be shy meeting new people, once he warms up he is such an affectionate pup who loves to lean into for attention. He needs a large-dog-savvy family, ideally, who have had experience with dogs who need to gain confidence. He is a smart boy and quickly learned to sit. He would be a great candidate for group puppy classes. For his age, Reese is pretty mellow and seems like he will be a moderate-energy pup as an adult. Reese has done well meeting other dogs and we think he would do best with another dog in the home to help mentor him. Reese has done well meeting the cats in his foster home and could do well living with dog-savvy cats in his new home with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Reese has done well living with older kids and could be a wonderful addition to a family with respectful older kids or an adult only home.. Reese has been doing great with his house-training, but is still learning and needs consistent training. He does great in his crate and is happy to hang out in there when his foster family is gone and overnight. Reese has never been truly alone since he has always been with his siblings, so he would do best with a family who have a schedule that would allow them to slowly acclimate him to being home alone. Reese is such a darling little man and we know his perfect fur-ever family is out there. If you think that might be you, submit an adoption application today! Reese's adoption fee is $350. Apply to adopt here! https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/ Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org) It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
