Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is Zeuss, who we are calling Zeuss II to differentiate from the Zeus we have already in care at the shelter. Both boys know their name, so we are not about to change them. If an adopter feels compelled to change, we understand.  Zeuss II was signed over to us on 11/18. His family is moving and say they can't have a pet in their new place. It is happening more frequently and we get it.  Sad, but it is happening everywhere. This boy is said to be good with kids, other dogs, and cats. We gave him a tour of the cat room, and he really had nothing to say about it, so that part we know is true. Can you help us get him out of the shelter quickly? He is such a good boy on leash and has no problem with strangers.    PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at FOACinfo@gmail.com. All adoptions begin with an application, found under the "Animals" tab on our website, friendsofcampbellcounty.org. *Unaltered babies under the age of six months can be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, and counties touching Campbell County. *Unaltered adult pets six months or older will need to be sterilized before they can be adopted outside our local area of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell. *We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice. *We do not permit cats or kittens to be declawed following adoption.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 19, 2024, 9:26 am

Story
JO - 1 year old, 120 pounds, house/crate trained, walks good with a harness, treat motivated, knows commands, loves toys/bones, may have some handling sensitivity, NO CHILDREN OR CATS. *Jo is defintely a big puppy. He has all the puppy behaviors, jumping, grabbing, playing, chewing, and all wrapped up in about 120 pounds, which he doesn't realize.  *Jo is very dog social and loves running and playing with other dogs. *Jo needs some training. He needs some consistency and routine.  *He is house trained but may have some accidents as he gets used to a new home and new environment.  *He loves to play and (again puppy here) loves to jump right into you looking for that play. He retrieves toys and balls and loves to play tug. He can be mouthy as well...did I mention puppy behaviors and training? LOL *Jo does not like cats and will also chase small animals. He will chew anything left unattended in a home...again puppy behaviors and training. *So training these puppy behaviors will go a long way for both you and Jo. If you are interested and have done your research on this breed or have experience with this breed, come on in to meet him and get ready for some fun! Jo is currently in a back kennel so if you don't see him, just ask!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 20, 2024, 9:55 am
