Story
Hi there! I'm Ginger, a 7-year-old Saint Bernard with a heart full of love and a sweet spirit. I'm often called a "velcro dog because I just can't get enough of my humans-I love being by your side and soaking up all the affection you can give! I may be a big girl, but I still have plenty of energy and love to run around and explore. I'm looking for a home where I can feel safe and cherished, ideally with a calm dog buddy who respects my space. I came to this situation through no fault of my own; my previous owner had to let me go because of my size. Right now, I'm on thyroid medication and need to gain a little weight, but I'm ready to thrive with the right care and love. If you're looking for a gentle giant to join your family, I might just be the perfect fit! Let's make some wonderful memories together! Story
Dottie is a sweet St. Bernard mix weighing in around 50 pounds. She is approximately 2-3 years old. Dot Dot as her foster folks affectionately call her was found the first week in October of 2023 along with her 4 pups. She was in sad shape, and it has taken 6 months to get her healthy. She is fully vaccinated to include bordetella, been treated for heart-worms, started on monthly heart-worm preventative, and has been spayed. She is playful, yet also calm. She is good with other dogs. She currently lives with 3 other female dogs. She is house trained and crate trained and has NEVER had an accident in the house. Dot knows the commands “sit”, “kennel” to get in her crate, “stay back” to not rush the door, and “down” when she gets excited and I want her to be calm. Dot comes when called. She enjoys riding in cars and on ATVs. She has never offered to chew on anything that’s not a dog toy. Dot loves the outside and spends most of her time on my front porch. Dot’s only con is that she loves to chase cats, but all 6 of our cats are still alive 6 months later…she just chases them and I haven’t been able to break that habit. She walks well on a leash with a regular collar, but I do use a “pinch collar” when I think we may encounter cats or other wildlife. She doesn’t love a bath, but she gets in the shower to be bathed without much fuss. I believe Dottie was likely just left to her own devices in a pen or on a chain before we found her abandoned on a rural dirt road. So she has had to learn to be a pet, but I think she is really enjoying the process. I would not call her food aggressive, but maybe food possessive…which I believe is a holdover from her not getting regular meals. I feed all the dogs in their own spaces to avoid confrontations and to make sure they all get what they need. Problem solved. She has come a long way and will make someone a loving and loyal pet. However, Dottie is currently being fostered in Georgia. She would love to make her way up north to a forever family.

If you’ve ever dreamed of sharing your life with dogs that hail from the breathtaking valleys of the Swiss Alps, Bear and Bunny might just be the companions for you! These two gentle giants, with a lineage traced back to the famous St. Bernard rescue dogs of the Great St. Bernard Pass, are looking for a family that understands their special needs. They are just a year old. **Bear** is a handsome male with the strength and bravery of his St. Bernard ancestors. True to his name, Bear can be a little intolerant of other male dogs, and while we hope neutering and proper socialization will help, his ideal home would be one where he’s the only male dog. Bear has been trained to wear a basket muzzle when needed, and while he’s lovable and incredibly loyal, potential adopters should be prepared for ongoing socialization work. If you’re okay with the possibility that Bear may always need to live without another male dog, then you’ll have a devoted, giant-hearted companion by your side. **Bunny** is Bear’s sweet counterpart, and while she’s equally lovable, she too is still learning how to interact peacefully with other dogs. Both Bear and Bunny have been trained to wear basket muzzles, and though they’re perfect in so many ways, we’re not yet ready to trust them in a home with other dogs **without close supervision and frequent intervention to manage interactions**. Both Bear and Bunny are **intelligent, quick learners** who know basic commands like **sit, down, and off**. They also **walk beautifully on a leash**, making them a joy to take on long walks or hikes. With the right guidance, their intelligence and willingness to learn will make further training both rewarding and fun. **They are available for adoption together or individually**, so whether you’re looking for a dynamic duo or a solo St. Bernard to love, you can bring one (or both!) of these majestic dogs into your home. If you have the space, patience, and experience to guide these beautiful, gentle souls, they’ll reward you with boundless love, loyalty, and the companionship only a St. Bernard can offer. Don’t let their imposing size fool you – Bear and Bunny are all about affection and will melt into your heart with every snuggle. **Please Note**: Bear and Bunny will do best in a home without other dogs for now, and Bear may not ever be suited to living with another male dog. If you’re up for the challenge and reward of helping these giants continue their journey to becoming well-socialized family members, we’d love to hear from you!&#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143&#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Adoption Application here: https://form.jotform.com/10941043786October 18, 2024, 12:21 am
