Story
Allen Park, MI 48101 - BONDED PAIR OF SAINTS. Sadly the owner in her 80's tripped and fell and broke her hip. She is in the hospital and cannot care of her two precious babies. BONDED PAIR MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER. Sam and Lucy were taken in by a family in Nov. but cannot keep them. Here is a bit of info : SAM 3 year old male (UTD/neutered/weight approx. 170-175) and LUCY 1.5 year old female (UTD/spayed/weight 120). THEY LOVE EVERYONE, EVERYTHING THING. Never been around cats. But roam freely on the property and do not run away. Love children. NO STRANGER DANGER AT ALL. They love everyone and love having company. If you are petting one, you must pet the other. Sam and Lucy are experiencing allergies at the new home. Not sure why. They didnt have the issue at their old home. Family unable to get them on track with a new food and feel another family/person can help them that has the time and experience. Our rescue needs URGENTLY oster/adopter to feed them high quality food/real, human-grade food and our rescue will help get them back on track with you. Sam and Lucy grew up on Ol'Roy - crap and new family trying to help them but cannot feed raw or meat and probiotics and real food. THEY ARE GOOD PEOPLE THAT WANT WHAT IS BEST FOR SAM AND LUCY. And no one wants the dog on apoquel and steroids which are killers. THIS CAN BE FIXED. FOSTER OR ADOPTER PLEASE CALL ME 610-787-2353 for details.

Story
Hey my name is Bingo! I am a good dog looking for an owner willing to offer proper training, socialization, and exercise. I am a quick learner, and with the help of some yummy treats, I will make you proud with my excellent manners. I’m a fun-loving dog who loves to play chase, so a home with cats wouldn’t be a good fit for my exuberant personality. I do have A LOT of energy and may be a bit too much for some families! However, a lot of energy also means a lot of LOVE! With time, training, and patience- you can help me be the best dog I can be!

Story
Stunning A17197663 lb. spayed female, approx 2 years old -This beautiful girl is feeling a little blue here at the shelter. She’s very nervous. -She’s slow to warm up but was really trying to be brave! She would come and sit behind me or slightly to the side of me.-She allows pets but they seem newer to her. Once she was comfortable with me I did get some kisses.-Walks great on a leash! Slow and steady!-Nervous of things near her head and will duck slightly-She didn’t take the treats I offered or have any interest in toys-She would benefit from a foster home or a super patient adopter. She’ll need time and space to come out of her shell at her own pace. She seems to really want to but not sure how.-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-3:30 BUT our adoptions are done 7 days a week from 10:30am -3:00pm. •The last potential adopter must arrive before 3:00 pm so we have time to properly help you before closing. **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
