Story
Hi, I’m Hobbes and I want to share my story. I was in a home before I was surrendered to Texas CARES. It was my one and only home and I was the star of the house, that is, until my family had a baby. After that, it seems I was set aside. The wonderful people at Texas CARES took me into their rescue but that is not where my story ends. You see, I am a very special boy and have had some pretty big ups and downs. In my foster home, I was having such a time using my litter box and no one could seem to figure out why I was going outside of it. They took me to the vet, where they ran tests and more tests. That wasn’t fun, because I am not a huge fan of going into the carrier (I told foster mom all about it on the ride) but I knew it was for my own good. My foster mom, along with the medical team, tried several different things. My food was changed, my foster mom used extra litter boxes, but I still would go outside the box. There was even a time where I heard talk of euthanasia. I’m not sure what that is but it sure didn’t sound good! I know my foster mom was so frustrated and really wanted to help me, but it was tough. Finally, foster mom and the medical team, along with the vets, started me on some different antibiotics and some medicine to help with my mental state. This seemed to be what was needed for me because I now use the litter box each and every time I need to go! So, you see, it took a little time, but I am finally ready to seek out a forever home. I will have to be on my special food, which helps prevent crystals in my urine, and I may have to be on my mental meds long term, but I take them like a champ. In fact, I don’t even think it’s medicine because it looks and tastes like a chicken treat. I enjoy my prescription food as well! I do get along with dogs and I have met my foster mom's cats but honestly, I’d probably prefer just to have my very own human to myself. I won’t be going up to the adoption center, so if you’d like to meet me and have a chat, my foster family will make arrangements for you to meet me! I really hope you will take a chance on me because I am a really wonderful boy and I am ready to be your best friend!  Medical:  Special Diet - He is now on CD Urinary food both dry and wet. Fluoxetine - Compounded Treat Chews - ordered monthly and delivered to his home. January 18, 2025, 9:30 pm

Story
I previously adopted her from an acquaintance, and shes fit and healthy, and super sweet. HOWEVER, shes VERY timid and is quite afraid of big noises. I have a 6 year old and she just isnt happy around him (he doesnt bother her, hes just a bit loud). She gets along well with other cats as long as shes given time to get used to them. However my older cat grew up alone and isnt good around other cats. (We didnt know until we adopted her and she became more comfortable in our house.) At this point, her and my older cat started fighting quite a lot and Ive tried everything to get them to get along. I introduced them properly several different times over the years and my older cat is starting to get health issues from the stress. Seolgi is a sweetheart & actually loves people & pets, and I genuinely feel bad to part with her after 3 years, but I just think both cats deserve to be in a home thats happy and peaceful for each of them. Seolgi is SO sweet and looking for new cat parent(s)!

Story
Meet Charlie! Charlie is a special boy born in November 2021.Hi guys my name is Charlie! I’m a super special boy looking for someone just as special with a big heart and a lot of patience to love me. I unfortunately came from a traumatic past but I am slowly growing more confident and will need the right adopter to help me keep progressing. I am declawed and terrified of being touched without it being on my own terms, so please respect my boundaries and I will respect yours. I love people so much and I even follow my foster mommy around like a dog and love to play with toys. Showering? Don’t mind me I will just sit and wait for you. Doing laundry? Count me in I want to watch. Movie night on the couch or in bed? I’m there (don’t forget my snacks and blankie)! I don’t get along well other animals so please let me be the only child and spoil me. I would also do best with no small kids. Older kids that respect my boundaries are fine. I’m fully vetted and have excellent litter box manners. If you’re looking for a boy with a lot of personality to keep you entertained consider me your guy!You must submit an application to be considered for adoption.
