Story
*** Missy is in a foster home. ***Cream/brown/white Snowshoe mix, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 7/1/21, #19231Cats: may like a companion Dogs: probably not Children: tweens+ / adultsMissy was found fending for herself on the streets of LA and was taken to a local shelter where she was given a late-pregnancy spay. As she was recovering from that, she came down with a respiratory infection and stopped eating; she had already been skinny as her resources went into her pregnancy. It was then that she came to The Rescue House. With TLC and medical care, she has recovered from her infection and is eating heartily to regain necessary weight.Missy is still in the process of figuring out her new life of ready food and pampering; it was a big change, after all, and Missy most of all wants to feel safe. Yet even in the month she’s been into our care she has made leaps and bounds toward becoming an amazing future companion to her adopter. She first spent her days hiding and only coming out to eat at night. Now she is coming out to explore, happily devour her Churu treats, and come perch by the window. While she still favors secure nooks and a quiet environment, when her foster goes to find her Missy really leans into the pets and will chirp and purr. She is slowly discovering what toys she likes (the round trackball tower) and what she doesn’t like (wands with bells). She is a huge sweetie! When a cat is outwardly shy like Missy, she can get passed over for more blatantly outgoing cats, but the strides she has made should not be taken lightly and show the promise of what she can become with a patient and accepting adopter. While she has not yet interacted with any other cats in foster care, we think Missy may like a welcoming kitty companion to both be her friend and to help her boost her confidence. We don’t know her thoughts on dogs. Younger or boisterous children would not be a good fit. She needs a quieter and routine-structured environment. Missy’s sweet nature is already clear, and she just needs a special person to give her the time to fully flourish. Will you give her that chance?

Story
How this pet arrived: Buffy was brought in by her previous owner on November 21, 2024. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Buffy, a striking and independent feline with a unique personality and an equally unique set of needs. Buffy's journey has shaped her into the special cat she is today, and she's looking for an equally special human to appreciate her quirks and give her the stability she deserves. Upon medical exam, it was discovered that Buffy had dental disease, so we had to remove a few teeth. She's healing well and is ready to go home! Though she has a history of strong feelings about her environment and boundaries, her behavior has improved significantly with the right housing setup and a bit of time to settle in. Buffy thrives as the sole pet in a home-she's a proud member of the "No Cats, No Dogs, and No Kids" club. Her history includes redirected aggression in a multi-cat household after spotting an unfamiliar cat outside, so she requires a space where she won't encounter other cats, including neighborhood or community cats. Her ideal setup might involve strategic use of blinds or curtains to help her feel safe and secure. While she hasn't had experience with dogs, a pet-free environment is highly recommended to meet her needs. Patience and respect will go a long way in helping Buffy adjust to her new home. She'll benefit from gentle bonding over treats, meals, and interactive play rather than forced handling. A top-loading cat carrier is a must for this gal to ensure a safe and stress-free journey home, setting the tone for a positive transition into her new environment. Primary Color: Seal Point Secondary Color: White Weight: 13.3 Age: 5yrs 7mths 3wks

Story
Kichi is a 2 year old Siamese with lots of personality. He is the most loving little guy out there and always wants to be pet and sit in someone’s lap. He will follow you around all day as his curiosity seems to be endless. We have had him since he was a kitten and have thoroughly enjoyed watching him grow and develop into the silly and fun little cat he is. Writing this has to be one of the hardest things we have ever had to do. We have a family member who recently had a stroke and needs 24hr care. After talk with family it was decided it would be best if she came to live with us as I am a nurse. Unfortunately she is very allergic to cats and we live in a two bedroom apartment so it doesn't work out for us to keep our beloved Kichi as the space is just too small. We want him to go to the best possible home where he will get all the love, pets, treats, and attention he deserves. His heart is so big and he is so loving and we just want him to have that in return.

Story
Yoda is a good boy. I’ve had him for 2 years, but I had my other cat the longest. They use to be a bonded pair, but unfortunately they grew apart. Yoda needs to be in a household that houses no other cats. He does not do well with females or other males. He has a very STRONG personality and will claim everything as his own, even if that means fighting for his throne. We’ve tried everything. On his own, Yoda is a cuddle bug and he loves playing with his rod toys. Loves temptations. He’s the sweetest with no problems with the litter box. He does get CRAZY zoomies however. At some point Yoda went missing during the time I had him. He was a street cat for 6 months. He might have some anxiety issues on the first meet. He often has trouble gaining the trust of strangers and can be frightened by loud noises. He’s a sweetheart. It hurts us to let him go, but the drama and power dynamics between 2 strong willed cats will lead to injuries we just cannot afford. If interested, I can tell u more
