Hello! My name is Murphy and I am 9 months old. I weigh a whopping 9 pounds. My fur is super soft. We are not sure what my breed is. Maybe I'm a Fox Terrier. Shelter thought Chihuahua but nah - nobody really thinks that. I guess you can say I'm a Mutt. But an awfully cute mutt. My owner bought me off of Craigslist and brought me home, but she should have checked with her landlord first. Sadly, Landlord heard my barking and said I had to go. Dogs weren't allowed in her apartment, so she took me to the shelter. Treasured Animal Rescue was there that day looking for cats and they asked me if I could tag along. So that's how I got my ticket out of the shelter. The shelters noted from that owner said I was not potty trained. But it took my foster Mom 4 days to teach me the potty business and I mastered it. I don't tell her I have to go outside but we go out a lot and I do my business out there. When I do I get lots of praise and I am so happy when my foster Mom praises me. My little tail wags so fast! It's like a windshield wiper. I even go outside in snow and rain. Weird for little dogs, huh? When snow came, I got to wear a sweater, but I didn't like it, so I took it off. That's ok because when I'm outside I run around a lot. I have a friend here and she & I play a lot. She's about 5 times my size and I don't mind how big she is. Sometimes when she's laying down, I hop on her back. In the short time I've been in my foster home I've learned the rules of the road from her so maybe when I get my new home, I have another friend that I can learn the same way. Speaking of my forever home. No apartments! I bark when I am left alone. I don't like being left alone. In my foster home someone is always home, or I have kitty or doggie friends who are here. My foster Mom can tell you what she has done to help my barking. It's gotten so much better. First night, I cried all night. My foster Grandma slept on the couch with me. Second night, it got better being on my own and now? I can sleep through the night and no barking. I would do better with a secured fence. But little dogs like me shouldn't be going outside by their selves anyways. I can be picked up really easy by some birds or coyotes. Remember, I'm only 9#s. I like the cats in the foster home too. Sometimes I chase them, but we are all the same size. There's one here that I like to cuddle with on the couch. I am past my puppy stage in the chewing and as we mentioned my potty training was corrected right away. It just took me a few days to learn new rules. Now, I know I go in my crate for my meals and when it's bedtime I go in my crate I get a special treat or a toy. I am a good boy all night until I wake up my foster Mom in the morning to tell her I got to go potty. I hope one day I have a family. Maybe someone who works from home, so I am not left alone. Remember no apartments or even shared walls (condos). When my foster Mom is on her computer I like to lay by her feet. I hope I can have another furry friend. Can't wait to meet you! Introducing Libby!Libby is a 26 pound, 8 month old Jack Russell Terrier/Pitbull (?) mix that was found as a stray and unfortunately, no one ever came looking for her. Libby was brought in extremely emaciated, full of parasites and scared of her new surroundings. She would slinky along the floor between your legs and look up at you with those big puppy dog eyes for reassurance. With lots of extra food and love from volunteers and staff Libby has began coming out of her shell. She is all tail/full body wags and just wants to be by your side, pleasing you! She loves toys and gleefully paraded her ball around for her photoshoot. Libby did well with meeting dogs and would benefit from a confident dog at home to show her the ropes as she is only about 8 months old! Her adoption fee is $235, which includes her vaccines, fecal exam, deworming, heartworm test, current flea/heartworm prevention, registered microchip, and spay!

Meet Mustang (Partial SPONSORSHIP)! Hi! Thank you for visiting my profile! Mustang can be a bit shy at first. Once she gets to know you get ready for snuggles, belly rubs and lots of love. You can get to know her by tossing treats away from you, then allowing her to come to you for more treats. She also has been working on "sit" so give that a try too! She is fully potty trained. Oh and she wants us to make sure to include that she loves belly rubs-have we mentioned that yet? If a night of snack, snuggling and sitcoms is your thing - we may be a perfect match! Our love bug's adoption fee is $300 which includes being fully vetted, spayed, microchipped and fecal exam. Mustang is 5 years old and petite weighing 33lbs (fully grown). All we can say is Mustang is a ray of sunshine 24/7! Her birthday is 1/14/19. Note: All dogs require a $100 training deposit. Once confirmation of the completion of a training class has been sent to the rescue, you will receive your deposit back in full. As we are a rescue all of our adult dogs/puppies for adoption must be spayed or neutered. Although we make every attempt to have this done before finding their adoptive families, this is not always possible. Please speak with your adoption coordinator to see of this service has already been performed or they will explain to you if your new dog/puppy will need this service while in your care at no cost to you. When emailing please include your phone number to help speed up the adoption process. Also, for the safety of our dogs we only adopt within a 2 hour radius of Joliet, Illinois, to allow our volunteers to do home checks if necessary.
