Meet Emoji, a sweet and snuggly 4-year-old Shih Tzu with a gentle personality and a love for being close to his people. Weighing just 11 pounds, this little guy is the perfect lap companion who truly thrives when he’s around his family. Emoji is nearly house-trained with the rare accident here and there. He’s crate-trained but rarely spends time in it as he’s not one to be mischievous when unsupervised.Emoji loves being around other dogs and has been great with his foster’s dog, though he tends to bark at dogs he encounters outside. He’s also been wonderful with kids, especially enjoying time with his foster’s 16-year-old daughter. Since Emoji was alone a lot in his previous life, he’s very attached to his people and would do best in a home where someone is around frequently. When he’s left alone, he may get a bit anxious and tries to follow, making him an ideal match for someone who can give him plenty of attention and companionship.This little pup has some adorable quirks that make him a joy to be around! He loves carrying his favorite stuffed animals—his bunny, pig, and chick—around the house like little treasures. Although he’s not familiar with tricks or commands, he’s a calm walker and enjoys a couple of short strolls each day. He’s not overly energetic but enjoys his daily exercise and some time outside. Though Emoji doesn’t require a fence, he does need to be on a leash or cable, as he has a tendency to wander if left on his own.Emoji is looking for a family who can provide the love, stability, and quality cuddle time he deserves. Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown.Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
