Story
  There is a very good reason why this adorable, beautiful Shih Tzu has been at the rescue for over 5 years. Geoffrey David is a special boy, who needs a special person to welcome him into their life. His behavior suggests he was abused from a very early age. When he arrived, this young boy was very untrusting and a defensive biter. After many years of receiving consistent love, care, and compassion, and watching the other dogs enjoy human attention and affection, Geoffrey David has made absolutely remarkable improvements.             Geoffrey David is now happy, relaxed, and seeks out attention and petting.  He has become much more animated and loves to play with toys. He also enjoys the company of other nice dogs and gets along very well in a group. Geoffrey David still does not want to be picked up, held, or go on a leash, but this will probably also change with more time. When he has reached his limits of petting, he usually lets you know with a little growl, or just walks away.             Geoffrey David is about 9 years old and about 15 pounds. Life is one big party for Lexi and Missy, and they can’t wait for a new family to join in. Lexi and Missy are extremely friendly, sweet, and happy, young girls, full of energy and love. They get along incredibly well and love to romp in the yard together and, especially, play fetch. Lexi and Missy adore human attention and affection, love to cuddle, play silly hand games, and give the sweetest, little kisses. Their exuberant spirits are contagious, and it’s almost impossible not to smile and have fun when with them.     Lexi is a Shih Tzu mix, about 4  years old and 13 pounds. Missy is a Shih Tzu, about 3 years old and 14 pounds. They have learned to walk on leashes, but, since they love to run and play, it would be preferable for their new home to have a fenced yard.   It’s just not right that these absolutely wonderful ladies have been at the rescue for many, many years, most of their lives. Sasha and Scarlett are certainly a unique pair, with their awesome, one of a kind looks, matched by their big, fun, personalities. They are very friendly, sweet, happy girls, with lots of energy, who love to be with people. They enjoy cuddly lap time, lots of affection, leash walks, romping on the yard, belly rubs for Scarlett, and a little toy playing for Sasha.  They are easy to walk together on leashes, and they get along with other dogs.             Sasha (brown and grey, about 11 years old) is the mother of Scarlett (black and white, about 10 years old), both Shih Tzu/Terrier mixes. They are currently somewhat overweight, but should be at proper weight about 14 pounds for Sasha, and 17 pounds for Scarlett. They have been bypassed year after year for our more classic Shih Tzus. It’s hard enough to adopt pairs, especially mixes, but Sasha and Scarlett have a special bond, and we will keep them together for their senior years ahead.
