Story
Hello . . . My name is Sylvie! I am an affectionate two-year-old Shih Tzu gal who weighs just over 11 lbs. I’m currently looking for a place to call “home sweet home." I hope you enjoy reading more about me and "fall" in love.
General Behavior: Sylvie is a loving and kissy girl. She can be described as an enthusiastic pup who is very extroverted and a social butterfly. She is curious, clever, and playful. She can also be independent and is fine doing her own thing at times. Likes & Dislikes: Sylvie would say that chasing lizards would be at the top of her list of fun things to do. She loves her toys and her antlers. Training: Sylvie is housetrained if let out on a regular, consistent schedule. She has good basic manners, walks well on a leash but gets excited when she sees other dogs and tends to bark at them and also at vehicles. Her foster mom is working on this. Slyvie tolerates car rides but will whine if she can't sit in the front seat next to you. Medical: Sylvie is a healthy pup and will just require her monthly heartworm and flea prevention, like any other dog. Other Animals: Sylvie has experience with calm, laid-back dogs and would do ok with another smaller furry friend. She does not like big dogs, so would not be able to be in a home with a larger dog. She would also be just as content to be the only pup in your life. She does not have experience with cats, so we are unsure how she would react to them. Children: While in our care, Sylvie has not been around children. Because she does not like to be grabbed, small children would not be good fit with Sylvie. A home with older, respectful children (10 and older), would be appropriate, but should be supervised by the grown-ups in the home. Home: Snuggly Sylvie would do better in a single family home because if she hears neighbors in the next apartment, she will bark. In her foster home, she has free reign of the home. She will happily join you on the couch for cuddles and shower you with unconditional love. After a long day of play and cuddles, she will get her beauty rest. Sylvie prefers to snuggle in the bed with her humans. Grooming: Sylvie is a shih tzu who will require professional grooming approximately every 8-10 weeks. The cost of grooming should be considered by her potential adopter. In between, she will need at-home spa days for nail trims and bathing. Overall: If you are looking for a smaller pup who will offer love, wiggles and snuggles, Sylvie may be the one for you!
Are you the one for Sylvie? Please visit our website, www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with her foster family if it’s a potential match. Sylvie is fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. Her adoption donation is $525.
