Story
Hi there! I’m Ashanti, a gentle soul looking for a calm and quiet home where I can feel safe and take my time to get comfortable. I’m shy, so it helps when people let me come to them first. I’d do best in a home where children understand and respect my space. I haven’t had much experience with a leash yet, so I’ll need some patient guidance to help me feel secure.

Story
HIGHLIGHTS:Needs another confident dog already in the homeNeeds a fenced-in backyardExperienced and patient familyNeeds an adult only home#### Meet Fancy, a resilient two-year-old Lhasa Apso weighing 12 pounds. Though initially shy, Fancy actively works with our dedicated staff to build courage and improve social interactions. With these interactions every day, she dreams of a patient and loving family who will support her journey of growth. With the right loving and patient family, Fancy will undoubtedly thrive and become a beloved lifelong companion.Fancy needs a home with an experienced owner to continue to help her grow. Although still shy of people, Fancy will gladly take treats. She also loves to play and throw a toy around as she zooms around the play yard. She would benefit from a small or medium-sized confident dog in the home to help show her the ropes. She can be weary of big dogs at first, but she just needs a chance to get to know them. Fancy is working on her leash training and her comfort level with humans, but has already come so far! Because of this she will need a home with a secure fenced in yard of at least 4` in height. * * * *Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. Because some of our dogs are very under socialized, they may not be a good fit for young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Some of our more fearful dogs will do best in a home with another dog and a securely fenced yard. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, many of these dogs come around with patience and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. Highlights:-Needs confident, canine sibling-Needs fenced-in yardMeet Macy, a 10-pound Maltese Chihuahua Poodle mix whose journey from shyness to spunk is nothing short of inspiring. When she first arrived, Macy was very shy and nervous, but she is growing more confident every day as she learns that her new environment is safe and kind.Macy will need some time to warm up to people, but with patience and love, she will surely come around. She would greatly benefit from having a more confident dog in her new adoptive home to show her the ropes and help her build her own confidence. As she does not walk on a leash yet, a fenced yard is essential to keep her safe. This spunky little girl isn`t afraid to tell you what she wants and has the cutest little elf ears that seem independent from her body, turning around like satellite dishes to take in every ounce of her environment. Macy is one of the cutest dogs you`ll ever see, and her charming personality is sure to win you over. Are you ready to offer Macy the loving and patient home she needs? This adorable pup is eager to find her forever family and share her unique blend of sweetness and spunk.- - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization.
