I’m an 11-month-old Silky Terrier, weighing in at a solid 17 pounds of fun. I’m still learning the ropes of life, but I’ve already got some great things going for me. I love to play with other dogs and toys (especially squeaky ones!) and I can’t get enough of a good game of tug-o-war. I'm friendly with kids too, so I’d fit right in with a family. I can be a little shy when meeting new people or in unfamiliar situations, but don’t worry—I warm up quickly! Once I’m comfortable, I’ll be your best buddy, ready to join in on any action. I’m crate trained, almost potty trained (I’m really close, I promise!), and I’m learning how to walk nicely on a leash. I know some commands like sit, stay, come, and even "leave it." Smart, right? I do well without a fenced yard as long as you’re ready for walks. I do bark at strangers outside the house sometimes—just doing my job as the lookout—but I’m otherwise a pretty happy, respectful pup with a little bit of a mischievous side. I like being chased and, oh, I have to admit, I have a hard time holding my licker… so expect lots of kisses! After all that play, I’ll be ready to snuggle up with you for some serious cuddle time. That’s me, Griddy—fun, loving, and ready to find my forever home! *I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. Let me give you the scoop on what makes me special. At 7 pounds and 7 years young, I may be small, but my personality is mighty. I'm friendly, curious, and playful—always up for a good time! Despite my luxating knees, I don't let it slow me down. With a little extra care and some glucosamine, I'm ready to tackle life head-on. I'm a social butterfly who loves making new friends, whether they're furry or not. Playing with other dogs and even cats? Count me in! Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi, my name is Calvin and I spent my early years not in any sort of inside, family-style living so this is all new to me.  So forgive me if I am a little skittish or nervous occasionally.  Especially when we first meet.  I do the same thing when outside of the environment I’ve grown accustomed to but I’m working on that and would do best with a home that will be patient and understanding.  I admit, I’ve growled at people when my stress level is over the top for me but I haven’t ever snapped or bitten anyone. But for now, maybe a home without small kids would be better as commotion, loud noises and men seem to make me more tense. I don’t have too much desire to play right now as I’m still trying to get accustomed to life in a loving environment.  I’m low key but I ventured out a bit this week and actually played with a toy!  Hold your applause! I don’t really have a fur bestie so I can be an only pet if you’re home most of the day.  Why, you ask?? Well, I tend to have lots of conversation with people and like to voice my complaints to the peanut gallery often (bark bark).  I am crate trained but that darn potty thing is a bit trickier.  However, when you keep me on a good schedule, I feel I’m close to making it happen! I don’t require a fenced yard either, as I’m working on my leash skills.  Granted, it’s got more work to be had but we can do it!  I have put my noodles together and with lots of practice, I know “sit, come, kennel, outside and go potty!” I’m food motivated which is why my noodles are functional. I may be a senior, but let me tell you, I’ve still got plenty of love and energy to go around. I’m a total indoor dog—I mean, who needs the great outdoors when you’ve got all the cozy comforts of home, right? Whether it’s rain or shine, I’m perfectly content to do my business outside and then hurry back indoors for some quality snuggle time. Toys? Oh, I can’t get enough of them! Soft, crinkly, you name it—I’ll play with anything you give me.  I do not need a fenced yar, as long as you always go out with me.. Sure, I enjoy the occasional walk, but I’m not dependent on it for bathroom breaks. I’m more of a in-and-out kind of guy when it comes to outdoor activities. Plus, I’m not the best on a leash and new things can make me a little nervous, so having a safe and secure yard where I can play without worry sounds like a dream. But let me tell you, when it comes to snuggles, I’m the absolute best. I’ll cuddle up with you for hours on end, bringing joy and warmth to your home every single day. I am prone to allergies and ear infections. To keep these in check, I am on the Adored Beast Leaky Gut allergy protocol.  I also eat raw rabbit, which is the best protein source for me.  I love it so much, there are no words!  My allergies have also improved considerably since I started on this yummy food and supplements.  I do also have dry eye, fairly common to my breed and I just need an eye drop in each eye, twice a day.  I don’t mind this at all because I know it will make my eyes more comfortable. So if you’re looking for a loving companion who’s just as happy playing with toys as he is snuggling up on the couch, then look no further—I’m your guy, Archie, ready to bring a whole lot of love into your life! P.S. My foster has chickens and ducks and I am fine with both, even when they free range around me.
