Story
Lux is a great dog that enjoys walks with a leash, traveling, spending time cuddling, and eating treats. He is very scared of large dogs, but does well with small dogs and cats. He absolutely loves teenagers and older children. He is terrified of busy toddlers. He is scared of remote controls and cell phones being in his face as he was rescued from an abuser who used to use these items to harm him. He likes to relax in the sun and he can sit hours resting with owner while getting back massages. He is comfortable with grooming, boarding, and daycare. He gets a little anxious on car trips but loves road trips. He loves riding in his strollers on shopping trips and enjoys going to Starbucks for his Puppicino. He is also crazy about Cornbread.

Story
A foster-to-adopt option is available for me, giving us the chance to get to know each other before making it official! Meet Angus! This 8-year-old, 11 lb. pup is full of personality and loves the company of other dogs, making him a wonderful fit for a home with canine companions. He would do best in an adult-only household and requires a fenced-in yard where he can safely enjoy his independence and spunky spirit. Angus is not a fan of cats, so he’s looking for a feline-free home. Angus has vestibular disease of unknown origin. Thankfully, his condition is currently stable and has not progressed, though the cause remains uncertain. Angus currently weighs about 11lbs., is approximately 8 years old (est. birth date 02/14/2017), and his adoption fee is $85. Angus has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Meet Gus!  Gus is a 16 yr old super senior Maltese who came to RMG after his mom had to be moved into memory care. Aside from having some apparent hearing loss, though, you would never know Gus is a whopping 16 yrs old! He’s extremely spry for his age and in great health. Gus’ previous family did report that he had had some life long anxiety issues, but he had also always been the only pet in the home. Ever since he joined RMG and has been in a foster home with other dogs and cats, we have seen absolutely zero signs of anxiety of any sort. This is one happy fella! So for that reason, we will be looking for a home with another dog for Gus - preferably another chill senior who would enjoy a companion to roam the yard with and then snuggle up for a nice nap. Meet Tommy!  Looking for a workout partner to help you meet your fitness goals in the New Year? So is Tommy! Tommy is a 5 yr old Shih Tzu whose human mom passed away about a year ago. Family members did step in to try to give Tommy a loving home, but having health issues of their own they found themselves overwhelmed and realized Tommy deserved more than they could provide. So they made the selfless decision to surrender him to RMG and allow him to find a family where he could go on to live his best life! Tommy is great with all dogs and cats. He’s the perfect combination of playful and cuddly, making him such a great little guy. Tommy is, however, “pleasantly plump” so we are looking for an active family who will help him meet his fitness goals so he can live a long and healthy life! Meet Eedy!  We rescued Eedy back in May 2025 from a metro area shelter and it’s taken this long (and a lot of TLC) to get her ready for adoption! Severe upper respiratory infection; malnutrition; skin infection….this poor girl had it all when she came to us. But as you can see from the pictures, she’s a new woman now! It’s extremely difficult to guess age on dogs that have been neglected as much as poor Eedy has throughout her lifetime, but we’re going with somewhere between 9-11 years old. She definitely acts like she is on the lower end of that age range now that she’s feeling so so much better. Eedy is great with other dogs and cats, but truly all she wants out of life now is a nice quiet spot in the sun to nap and her very own person to trail along after, helping in the garden on nice days or curling up in front of a cozy fire on a cool evening.   Eedy is on some medications that she will likely require for life - thyroid medicine and apoquel. It is possible that with further study to determine what she is allergic to, and maybe dietary changes, the apoquel might be able to be discontinued.  Interested in adopting Eedy and showing her that the best is yet to come in her Golden Years?
