Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

A foster-to-adopt option is available for me, giving us the chance to get to know each other before making it official! Meet Angus! This 8-year-old, 11 lb. pup is full of personality and loves the company of other dogs, making him a wonderful fit for a home with canine companions. He would do best in an adult-only household and requires a fenced-in yard where he can safely enjoy his independence and spunky spirit. Angus is not a fan of cats, so he’s looking for a feline-free home. Angus has vestibular disease of unknown origin. Thankfully, his condition is currently stable and has not progressed, though the cause remains uncertain. Angus currently weighs about 11lbs., is approximately 8 years old (est. birth date 02/14/2017), and his adoption fee is $85. Angus has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Angus, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. Meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Meet Chance! Chance is a lovable 3-year-old Chihuahua/Shih Tzu mix with a heart as big as his sweet personality. Chance has a head tremor caused by a congenital cerebellar lesion, but it doesn’t slow him down at all. , This was confirmed by a neurology consultation. He’s a happy, affectionate little guy who enjoys life at a relaxed, low-to-moderate energy pace—happy to play a little, go on short walks, or just curl up for cuddles and quiet companionship. He is house-trained and crate-trained, gets along beautifully with dogs, kids, and cats, and greets everyone he meets with warmth and friendliness. Chance is looking for a loving forever home where he can share his gentle, loyal heart every single day. Chance is currently undergoing treatments for heartworm disease. Until he has completed his treatments and is fully recovered, Chance is available for adoption only in the Atlanta area; He must be able to come to Furkids' shelter for treatments. Chance weighs 13lbs and is approximately 3 years old (est. birth date 09/24/2022). Chance has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. Bruno may be small, but he’s got a big personality—and a little spice to go with it! This clever, loyal pup is full of love once he feels safe with you. At first, he can be nervous around new people and situations, but with patience (and maybe a little cheese), his sweet and affectionate side shines through. Because Bruno can become nippy if startled or rushed, he’s looking for an experienced adopter who understands “spicy” dogs and is willing to respect his boundaries. A calm, low-traffic home without children will be the best fit for him. The good news? Bruno has plenty of great qualities to offer his perfect person! He’s housetrained, crate-trained, and enjoys the company of other dogs. A fenced yard is required, but he also does well on leash. To help set him up for success, Bruno’s adoption will include a couple of meet-and-greets and a home visit. He isn’t a dog for everyone—but for the right person, he’ll be a devoted and wonderful companion. Baby Bruno weighs 13lbs. and is approximately 4 years old (est. birth date 03/22/2021).
