Story
Winifred is always happiest with her people, whether she's lounging on a lap watching Tiktok -- you'll need to limit her screentime -- or blasting around doing her morning zoomies, she wants her people there. She loves to be right on top of her humans, literally. If there's a lap available, it won't be for long. If you're lying down, she is too, right on top of you. She just loves to be as close to her people as possible and doesn't have any idea what personal space is. Your space is her space. She can definitely be a couch potato. Give that girl a soft blanket and she'll nap the day away. She will bury herself under all the blankets and not be seen again until naptime is finished. She also loves crinkle balls and chasing the feather wand. And water, she loves water. A fountain will be a must for this pretty girl. Winifred is pretty shy with new people and new situations. She spent the first ten months of her life outside and although she is rocking the indoor life, she does get shy and a bit nervous when faced with new things outside of her comfort zone. She will definitely need some time to settle into her new home and must be allowed to adjust at her own pace. Once she gets comfortable and blossoms, she is the most amazing little cat. She loves other cats and would do well with a confident, yet calm and gentle, feline friend. Winifred would do best in a home that's fairly quiet, and young children might be too much for her. Est. DOB January 2023, Winifred is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and tested negative for FIV/Felv.

Story
10 years old (estimated) Neutered male Outgoing and affectionate No known experience with cats, dogs, or children I'm a handsome flame point boy with a love for the simple pleasures in life. Lounging on the couch with my favorite people, basking in patches of sunlight, and savoring meal times are some of my favorite pastimes. I'm outgoing and friendly, always ready for a good petting session and some affection. I may not be the most adventurous cat, but I have a big heart and plenty of love to give to my new family. If you're looking for a laid-back companion who enjoys the finer things in life, look no further—I'm your guy! It's the Summer of Love! My adoption fee is half price throughout July! I'm currently staying at PetSmart West in Madison.July 3, 2024, 7:21 pm

Story
n the last couple months we have seen an increase of FeLV+cats. This is from 2 separate home on different sides of Elkhorn and then a home in Whitewater. What is FeLV? The technical name is Feline Leukemia Virus. Like FIV it can weaken the cat's immune system and shorten their life. Is FeLV contagious to other cats? Yes it is! It's easily transmissible between cats by saliva - grooming each other, sharing the same dishes. Cats that are positive are looking for a home with no other felines. They are able to live with other animals such as dogs. **There's a vaccine that may help the current cat in the home but you would need to reach out to your veterinary to discuss this.Best placement for FeLV kitties? ·Someone able to keep the cat indoors only·Taken to regular checkups - maybe even more than normalHow long can they live? Cats can live anywhere between 2-5 years, maybe even longer. It's not something the shelter sees often. Strangely we see more FIV cats enter our shelter. Currently with have babies that are 2 months old up to adults. If you are willing to open your heart and home to these very special babies, please reach out! These kitties deserve a chance at a home just like anyone else.Adoption Information ~·Age appropriate vaccines ·FeLV+·Fecal exam ·Microchipped ·Neutered/Spayed·Only FeLV+ cat homeAdoption fee ~ Name Your OwnYou can Apply below ??https://lakelandanimalshelter.org/adopt/adoption-profile-online-form/cat-adoption-form/*Cat rooms at Lakeland are open to the public during the time of open hours of Monday-Friday 12p-5p, Saturday 11a-4p but Delavan PetSmart is by appointment.
