We first met Frieda while working on an out-of-control residential colony. She had been having litters of kittens for a couple of years before we got there and we managed to save her last litter, Peter, Pan, and Wendy. Frieda is extremely gentle, sweet, and loving. We suspect she will stay small. Although we have only had her for a couple of weeks, we can see that her temperament is extremely tolerant. Frieda has been through a lot and we are going to make sure that she gets the very best home and lives the rest of her life out in a joyful and comfortable environment. Her mother is a bluepoint Siamese, but her father is not known. Rita and her sister Beauty were adopted together and enjoyed a happy life with their dads. Unfortunately, when their dad's mother had to move in with them, she brought a larger dog which was not friendly towards the cats. To ensure their safety, they were returned to the rescue. Rita is now 6 years old and has adjusted well to life at the rescue. She loves to be petted on her terms and has a special affinity for men, likely due to growing up with male caregivers. She is current on all of her vaccines, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, and has been microchipped and spayed. She comes to us with her friend Luna, we are not sure if they are bonded or not. Meet Amelia! Amelia is a beautiful, petite, Abyssinian cat, about 3-4 years old. She was found living under someone's porch with her 5 kittens.Amelia came into care in May 2022. She is a "Violet," meaning she is very shy and not your typical house cat. She is great in the litterbox but is not a fan (yet) of being pet, although she has allowed her foster mom to give her medicine orally and vaccinate her with no problems. She just needs time to trust people.Amelia will need a patient person who is able to meet her on her own terms. Someone who will let Amelia just "be" - to be in her new home and explore, and when she is comfortable, to come to her new person to be pet. Amelia will need a quiet, low activity home with no children under the age of 13 years old.Because she is a Violet, her adoption fee is greatly reduced pending an approved application.
