Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.North Texas Cat Rescue P.O Box 1504 McKinney, TX 75070 214.454.9395 www.northtexascatrescue.com Crystal is a beautiful Blue Point Applehead Siamese, which means her head is round vs what people think of as a "Siamese cat". Crystal is very playful and enjoys all kinds of toys. She is SUPER affectionate and loves human attention. She enjoys being petted and likes being held. She would LOVE a forever home with a person who is home all day. She thrives with love and attention, and has really been enjoying helping her foster mom work from home. Crystal is blind in one eye and she was likely born that way. It doesn't impact her quality of life and there's nothing medically that needs to be done. Crystal does have a history of being in a multi-cat home; however, we do believe she would love to be an only kitty and have all the attention lavished upon her. Crystal ended up in rescue because her owner passed away so she's had a LOT of change in her life lately! Crystal is FIV+. If you're not familiar with FIV, it stands for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). It is a virus that is not transmittable to other species and only spread from cat-to-cat via blood - so deep bite wounds. It does not negatively affect a cat's life or lifespan, nor does it impact their quality of life. It's really important that if an FIV+ cat shows signs of illness, they are taken to the vet immediately as they can take a bit longer to recover. Additionally, when FIV+ cats are taken for yearly check-ups at the vet, it’s important that their teeth are also checked as some FIV+ cats can have above average dental disease. Story
Lazarus is a miracle kitty. He was the runt of the litter and was near death when our rescue network was alerted. Miraculously, Lazarus cheated death and came back to life after many efforts was devoted to saving him. He was named Lazarus in memory of his recover which was due to the power of shed tears, prayers and, of course, warm kitten milk. Despite his small stature, Lazarus is the king of mischief. He is the most impish of all the kitties in his foster home. He is fostered with multiple cats and one elderly dog. His zeal for life is expressed in his fearless attempts to scale high regions and to wrestle his larger feline siblings daily for championship. He loves the elderly dog in the household and will often lie next to her. He tries very hard to cajole her into play and unfortunately, his favorite catch toy is her plumy tail. So often, he will get a gentle "woof" as a reprimand for his naughty antics. We are selectively looking for a perfect, loving home for Lazarus. Aside from his gorgeous chocolate Siamese good looks, this kitty is inquisitive and very curious. He is also quite social with all the animals in the home so we are actively looking for a home with another young cat AND a gentle dog who would not mind being teased by a loving, naughty feline companion. We prefer that he goes to a home where his owners will have the time to dote on him. Due to the nature of his rescue, Lazarus is VERY special to our rescue, and we hope that potential owners will not simply apply for him because of his good looks alone. Please note the following: We always do vet reference checks, and we WILL NOT adopt kittens or cats into household where the residential pets are unvaccinated. This is to ensure the safety of BOTH our kitten/cat and your current pets. We also only adopt locally and will reserve the right to deny Meet and Greet as our volunteers cannot do any home visits if the distance is too great. This is a No Exception Rule: Due to its young age, this kitty cannot be adopted into a home that has no other young cat(s) or kitten(s) for it to socialize with. Consider adopting the kitty with a sibling if you don't already have a kitten or cat at home. To meet Lazarus, please text 214 621 1139 for an application to meet.
