Story
Hi! My name is Cassie. I'm a lilac lynx point Siamese mix. I came from a  too-many-cat situation. I'm quite young, maybe a year or so (DOB about 10/1/23).  Foster mom says I adjusted to foster life faster than anyone she's had in her 25 years of fostering. I'm very friendly, like to be involved in what you're doing, and I enjoy lap time. With my personality, I'm pretty sure I'd do fine with nice dogs and children. I'm used to cats, of course, and I'm not aggressive at all.  She LOVES everyone as soon as she meets them.  She is VERY playful and active.  She loves to play with toys or other cats and is never bored.  She's negative for feline leukemia and aids, current on her distemper and rabies vaccines, been wormed, had revolutions for fleas, and been vet checked and spayed.    If interested in this cutie pie, please contact Holly at 865-671-4564 or hhfrey1@tds.net.   We are a small, private feline-only rescue group dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of homeless cats and kittens. The majority of our cats and kittens come from high kill shelters. Through our application and interview process, we strive to make the 'purrfect' match to insure a loving, lifelong home for those in our care. We do NOT receive funding from any national organization, federal or state governments.November 3, 2024, 5:50 pm

Good with cats,
Story
Bo was part of a TNR program in Jefferson County. He was one of many cats subjected to neglect, being left alone, never knowing when he'd see his next meal. This beautiful boy has had to learn how to trust humans again and learn that his uncertain future was no longer bleak. As a Lynx-Point Siamese, his markings are one in a million, and he's got the "big boy" energy to back it up. Bo is not quite comfortable being picked up, but he ADORES pets, and will climb all over you for attention. This gorgeous boy has so much love to give, and is just waiting for his forever home.

Story
Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  Greetings, wonderful humans! I’m Simon, a very dashing Siamese with a story that’s both challenging and heartwarming. I was once a stray, facing tough times and a lot of uncertainty, but thanks to a kind rescuer, I found a second chance. Now, I am eagerly looking for a new, loving home where I can truly settle in a shine. Let me tell you a little about myself: I’m a pumpkin of a Siamese—handsome and full of charm! I absolutely adore being petted and cuddled. My foster family is amazing, and I’m particularly fond of snuggling up with my humans. Blossom, my beautiful calico soulmate, and I are both huge fans of human affection and would rather spend time with you than with any toy. We both LOVE to sleep with our humans! Speaking of Blossom, she’s the love of my life! Meeting her has been the best thing that’s ever happened to me. She’s a delightful cuddle bug who coos as she walks around, and together, we make the perfect pair. We’re two peas in a pod, and separating us is simply not an option. We’re looking for a calm, loving home where we can adjust together and become a cherished part of your life. If you have the space in your heart and home for both of us, you’ll find yourself with the most devoted, loving companions you could ever wish for. With all our love and purrs,Simon & Blossom If you would like to meet your new best friends, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. To fill out an application, go to www.almosthometn.org. If you cannot get it to work, let us know and we will email it to you in a different format. Unless otherwise noted, all Almost Home cats are healthy, spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and flea & tick preventative.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. November 1, 2024, 8:13 pm
