Story
Onyx is a magnificent 2-year old male Siamese mix kitty who was found in Belpre Ohio and rescued by a compassionate woman who gave him a temporary home and offered to foster him until he could be adopted. Onyx has a sleek black short smooth coat, a long tail, and a handsome chubby face with golden eyes, a black velvet nose, and long black whiskers. These photos of Onyx were taken on October 24, 2023 when his foster mother brought him to HSOV for us to meet him 'up close and personal'. Thanks to HSOV Volunteer/Board Member Tracy Moore for helping Onyx with his photo session. This was a new experience for Onyx, and he was obviously out of his comfort zone .. But he made the best of the situation and was quite friendly/congenial while we snapped several pictures. Onyx was quite content to relax in Tracy's arms for some close-up photos of his beautiful face (and he even agreed to wear a tiny purple/white/black plaid bow tie). His foster mother has had Onyx vetted, so he has been neutered and is up-to-date on vaccinations. Onyx is a big boy who currently weighs 12.7 lbs, so there is a lot of him to love. The other cats in his foster home haven't accepted Onyx into their circle of friends, so Onyx needs to find a permanent home of his own. If you'd like to meet/adopt Onyx, please submit an HSOV adoption application for approval and we will arrange a meet-and-greet with his foster mother.

Story
Tubbs is a magnificent 3-year old (perhaps older) male Siamese mix kitty who was brought to the HSOV on March 13, 2024. Unfortunately the individual(s) who left him outside that afternoon did not leave any information about him, so we don't know if he was an owner surrendered or a stray kitty. What we do know about him is that he is a very handsome guy with a sweet personality .... Tubbs has a gray-and-white short smooth coat, a long dark gray tail, and an adorable symmetrically-marked face with blue eyes, a pink nose, and long white whiskers. This big loverboy has a calm, easygoing personality and loves attention. Tubbs was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on March 15, 2024. He was also combo tested and is negative for feline leukemia, FIV, and heartworm. Tubbs weighs 8 lbs that day. Tubbs was started on antibiotics when he arrived since he had an upper respiratory infection (aka 'kitty cold'), and he was treated to extra TLC with rest-and-relaxation until he was feeling better. Tubbs is being listed as a Special Needs Kitty since he appears to be hearing impaired and because he will need to undergo a dental procedure with possible extractions. Since he has not yet been neutered, Tubbs will likely have those two surgeries done simultaneously. Tubbs will soon be ready to find a fantastic home either through adoption or rescue. Rescue groups may contact our HSOV Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation. UPDATE: Tubbs was neutered on May 1, 2024 and was given rabies vaccine. Tubbs also had a dental procedure while he was under anesthesia and most of his teeth were extracted, so he will be on a soft food diet for the next couple of weeks. Tubbs was adopted on May 18, 2024. Update: Tubbs was returned to HSOV on November 19, 2024 through no fault of his own. This magnificent kitty is available for adoption and looking for a fabulous loving home. Update 11/21/2023: Tubbs went home with a foster mother on November 21, 2024 but he is still available for adoption.

Story
Valentino is very shy until she is comfortable -- she is gorgeous and very sweet beneath that shyness. She would thrive in a quiet home where she can feel safe. She is almost two years old and has a $150 adoption fee. All cats adopted through our rescue are age appropriately vaccinated including rabies & FVRCP/Feline Leukemia vaccines, dewormed & free of fleas, combo tested (negative unless otherwise noted), microchipped and spayed/neutered before adoptions are finalized. If you would like to adopt, please fill out the application through the link or the website at -www.whiskersofohio.org - please note that the "I'm interested" tab on Petfinder does NOT act as an application, this should only be used for specific questions before committing to an adoption. You will receive an email confirmation when your application goes through. We make no breed guarantees, we are a rescue, not a breeder. Please only apply for a specific kitten if you are committed to adopting! Our workers are all volunteers and it takes time to process applications. We are a registered, volunteer run 501c3 non-profit organization. Free transport is regularly available to Wayne/Holmes County areas! We do have the ability to fly a cat or pair of kittens via Southwest's SWATT program to any location served by Southwest Airlin
