Story
Lola was adopted from our shelter as a kitten. She lived in a home for over 9 years, and her owners returned her saying that she was very skittish and was urinating outside of the litterbox for the last year. When Lola came back in, her skin was covered in scabs and bumps. Three of her nails had been so overgrown that they impacted her pawpads a full 360 degrees and were poking back through. This caused extreme pain and infection. Lola's paws have since been cared for and she has been nursed back to health. Lola is timid, but she still wants love. She has had no issues using the litter box once she was relieved of all her pain. Cats typically go outside of the litter box for 2 reasons; there is something medically wrong, or they are trying to tell you they are upset. Please consider giving this beautiful girl a fresh start. Lola has been vaccinated, wormed, spayed/neutered and tested negative for FELV/FIV which is all included in the $70 adoption fee. If you would like to adopt this cat, you must come into the shelter for a meet and greet. We are open 12-4. (Closed Mondays & Wednesdays) All cats must leave the shelter in a carrier. If you do not bring one with you, one must be purchased at the shelter if available for $6.

Story
Two, part siamese, black cats (so closely resembling each other we gave up trying to name them). We adopted them when they were weeks old and bottle fed. These cats are my son's and he adores them but I recently married and we are moved my Wife and her children in with us back in June and we are having a baby due in December. Since they moved in, the cats have sprayed in every room of the house except my son's. within the last week, they have urinated on the kids bed while they were in it. They hiss and attach the kids and my wife has had a rough pregnancy and the smell of urine sends her into vomiting spells immediately They haven't done this before but we simply can't keep them with this behavior. I am sick over having to rehome them but we've exhausted every option. They are aloof until you just let them come around on their own then you have a furry bed companion with lots of snuggles and purring all night.

Story
Meet Obsidian, the sleek and stunning black kitten who’s as spicy as she is smart! With a cautious demeanor around new faces, Obsidian takes her time to warm up but is well worth the patience. Her energetic spirit is a sight to behold—she's always on the move, ready for a wrestling match or an adventurous hunt. Obsidian’s heart belongs to her fellow felines. She adores snuggling and wrestling with her cat companions, and despite her initial hisses and reluctance to be touched, she’s beginning to show her softer side. She might not admit it, but those ear scratches are starting to win her over, especially when treats are involved! This feisty little fighter is a vocal dynamo who knows how to make her presence known. If you’re looking for a strong, spirited kitten with a hint of mystery and a whole lot of charm, Obsidian just might be your perfect match. Story
Please contact Jamie (jamie@pawsandprayers.org) for more information about this pet. Meet Bunker! Bunker is a 6-8 month old Siamese kitten. Bunker came to Paws and Prayers as a baby and started off as a medical mystery. Bunker seemed to get re-occurring ear infections and polyps which resulted in him needing multiple surgeries. Bunker is finally healed with his final surgery. He is pretty normal, but does have some residual neurological symptoms. Bunker will have a head tilt for the remainder of his life and sometimes walks in circles. Other than this, he is a normal cat. Bunker’s adoption fee is $150.  Paws and Prayers Cats are spay/neuter, fully vaccinated, FIV/FeLV tested (neg), dewormed, current on flea/tick prevention, and microchipped at the time of adoption. They are litterbox trained unless otherwise noted. Please be aware we do not walk around standing & holding our shelter cats - this is unnatural to them and we like to keep them as comfortable as possible.  Please read the entire bio before emailing the foster with questions.    Meet and greets are not arranged unless an adoption application is filled out and approved and are by appointment only. October 16, 2024, 5:20 pm
