Story
A few weeks back I went outside to find a four week old kitten in the wheel well of my car. I of course took her in and bathed her and have cared for her up until now. Peppercorn is a very timid and shy kitten, she will need a slow paced, patient hand. She is not a super cuddly cat and becomes frightened and runs away if approached too quickly. I dont know how she was treated before I found her, but she has been timid and flinchy since I brought her into my care, regardless of working with her. Despite being a scaredy-cat, peppercorn is incredibly gentle, having not scratched me once in the four weeks Ive been caring for her, even while playing with her. She has never hissed or growled at anyone, not even my male cat of whom she eats out of the same dish with, plays with, sleeps with, and follows around like her mother. I would suggest bringing her into a home that has another cat for her to bond with, as she prefers cat company to human company. She is 100% litter trained.

Story
Two, part siamese, black cats (so closely resembling each other we gave up trying to name them). We adopted them when they were weeks old and bottle fed. These cats are my son's and he adores them but I recently married and we are moved my Wife and her children in with us back in June and we are having a baby due in December. Since they moved in, the cats have sprayed in every room of the house except my son's. within the last week, they have urinated on the kids bed while they were in it. They hiss and attach the kids and my wife has had a rough pregnancy and the smell of urine sends her into vomiting spells immediately They haven't done this before but we simply can't keep them with this behavior. I am sick over having to rehome them but we've exhausted every option. They are aloof until you just let them come around on their own then you have a furry bed companion with lots of snuggles and purring all night.

Story
Bonded sisters looking for a family to love. Pretty and Shadow are 3 year old sisters that have always been together. We have had them since they were babies and are absolutely heart broken about having to adopt them out as they are so loved. However, they are having an extremely hard time adjusting to having children in the house and have unfortunately taken their dissatisfaction out by urinating in the children's bedrooms and on their laundry. We care for them so much and have tried many different options but at this point we believe they would be happier in a different situation. They are very sweet and love nightly snuggles. Both will curl up right next to you and purr while you sleep. They do great and love our teenager dearly so would probably be great in a home with older kids or no kids. They haven't spent much time around dogs so we think they would need a dog free home or a home with a docile dog that won't pay them much attention.

Story
Meet Lacey! Lacey is a female 8 month old kitten who is FIV+. FIV+ cats can live long happy lives with the right care. They are auto immune deficient so annual vaccines, exams, and quality foods are recommended. FIV+ cats can live amongst none positive cats. It is only transmitted through mating and extreme, extreme puncture wounds. If you have other cats, it would be necessary for them to be altered and have demeanors that welcome other cats. Lacey is extremely cat friendly. She loves her cat companions and has never posed a threat to any of them. Lacey was found outside at roughly 6 months old where a nice family trapped her and we got her vetted and took over care. Since having Lacey, she is nothing but a pleasure. She’s so friendly, talkative and loving. She follows you everywhere you go, loves to snuggle in your lap, and insists on having any attention you can give her. She’s not a very skittish cat, she’s quite confident but does take a few days to warm up. Lacey loves all kinds of toys and scratching posts. She’s constantly playing and is great at keeping herself entertained, but would also enjoy a friend to keep her busy! Her favorite time of day is wet food time! She has it for dinner every night and loses her mind for it. She meows the whole time until she’s fed and then when she gets her food she wastes no time diving in! If you’re interested in giving Lacey a forever home, submit an application at www.cassidyscritters.com and someone will be in touch shortly!

Story
Please contact Jamie (jamie@pawsandprayers.org) for more information about this pet. Meet Bunker! Bunker is a 6-8 month old Siamese kitten. Bunker came to Paws and Prayers as a baby and started off as a medical mystery. Bunker seemed to get re-occurring ear infections and polyps which resulted in him needing multiple surgeries. Bunker is finally healed with his final surgery. He is pretty normal, but does have some residual neurological symptoms. Bunker will have a head tilt for the remainder of his life and sometimes walks in circles. Other than this, he is a normal cat. Like a true Siamese, he is vocal. We are looking for an experienced cat owner for Bunker’s new family.   Bunker’s adoption fee is $150.  Paws and Prayers Cats are spay/neuter, fully vaccinated, FIV/FeLV tested (neg), dewormed, current on flea/tick prevention, and microchipped at the time of adoption. They are litterbox trained unless otherwise noted. Please be aware we do not walk around standing & holding our shelter cats - this is unnatural to them and we like to keep them as comfortable as possible.  Please read the entire bio before emailing the foster with questions.    Meet and greets are not arranged unless an adoption application is filled out and approved and are by appointment only. November 3, 2024, 2:27 pm
