Story
** Courtesy Post! See bottom of info for important information** Meet beautiful Summer!! Summer loves to eat, especially wet food. She’s very vocal and will meow at you when she wants attention. She respond to her name. She’s very motherly and loves giving other cats baths. She's spayed, and current on her rabies shot. She loves the other kitties in her house, and does fine around the dogs. With proper, slow introductions, she ought to be fine with calmer dogs. She is not overly fond of the toddler in her current home (a bit too much commotion for her liking!) but older, calmer kids should be just fine with Summer. She's looking for a home where she can snuggle and lounge like the royal goddess she is! For more information or to adopt this sweet lady, please TEXT Dana directly at (248) 978-6854. PLEASE NOTE, Summer is currently located in the state of Delaware! *Courtesy Post - text Dana directly if you're interested in adopting Summer.*

Story
We need a very special home for a very special boy...meet Qing! Qing is a very sweet young boy, and what he lacks in legs he makes up for in endless love! He was found as a stray, dragging behind him an entirely useless leg. It was promptly amputated, and he has adjusted well to the 3-legged life. He is looking for his forever home, but exactly how long "forever" is remains uncertain for him - along the way, we discovered that Qing is positive for Feline Leukemia, a virus that runs a completely unpredictable course. The only thing we can say for certain is that he is *progressively* infected. A progressive FeLV infection means that he is more likely to become ill at some point. But Qing is a lover boy like you've never seen. He is an expert biscuit maker and loves belly rubs and chin scritches. He's got such a zest for life and loves crash landing into his various toys. When you adopt Qing, you will receive a wonderfully socialized gentleman who comes neutered and fully vaccinated, and you will also receive his special mouse that he continuously loses underneath things, and then cries for help after. Adopting Qing is a commitment to however long he may or may not have, and a commitment to always helping him find his mousey. Qing will need to go to an only cat household, or a household with other FeLV+ cats. We also cannot state whether or not he is okay with other cats, or dogs. Although his foster home has both, he cannot interact with the rest of that household as FeLV spreads easily via saliva. He’s just the sweetest baby. He would be wonderful for someone who really needs a buddy. He would be perfectly content to sit on the couch or the bed or at the table with someone and hang out all day Included with the adoption is the kitty's neuter, all current-due vaccinations for kitties over 1-year, deworming, flea treatment, a wellness check, FIV/FeLV combo testing, and microchipping. In addition to being fully vetted, our cats and kittens are highly socialized. We offer a 2-week getting acquainted period, so you can comfortably settle in with your new kitty! To apply to adopt, please complete an adoption inquiry at www.bluesmews.org so our adoption specialist volunteer can review it and contact you!

Story
Simon and Lily's eyes, once bright and full of life, now reflect the pain of their past. Just two years ago, their world was shattered when they lost their beloved human mother. The memory of her loving touch and soothing voice still lingers as a bittersweet reminder of what they once had. As they navigate their new reality, Simon and Lily depend on each other's presence. They are more than just siblings; they are inseparable companions, bound together by their shared grief. It is clear that they need to be adopted together; Simon and Lily's emotional and physical well-being depend on it. Despite their fragile emotional state, the brother and sister duo still yearn for human connection. They savor each gentle pet, every soft whisper, and all tasty treats that come their way. But it is clear to their caretakers that they require more than just casual affection; they need a family who can provide the extra TLC they so desperately crave. As purebred Siamese cats, Simon and Lily boast an impressive pedigree. Born to a reputable breeder and fully vetted, their papers are available, and their adoption donation reflects their esteemed heritage. But, it isn’t really about the paperwork; it’s about finding a family who can provide the love, care, and commitment that Simon and Lily deserve. We prefer someone who is familiar with the Siamese breed, as they are quite the talkers and will eventually let their guard down and bond with a new family again. PLEASE NOTE, the Rescue team knows their fragile emotional state requires a forever home within a LIMITED RADIUS OF 75 MILES OF DAYTON, OHIO. This will ensure Simon and Lily receive the stability and security they need to have, and the rescue can provide support to the new family. If you believe your family has the patience, stability, experience and love necessary to become Simon and Lily's forever home, please complete an adoption inquiry at www.bluesmews.org so our adoption coordinator volunteers can review it and contact you!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Cat Information Meet Lindsey: A Stunning Siamese with a Heart Full of Potential Lindsey is a beautiful 4-year-old seal point Siamese with captivating blue eyes and a quiet, independent charm that’s impossible to ignore. While she’s not yet comfortable with being touched or handled, she has grown into a confident, curious, and playful cat who loves exploring, basking in sunny spots, and being near humans. With patience, understanding, and a calm environment, Lindsey has the potential to flourish even more in the right home, where she may one day come to enjoy gentle affection.  Her ideal home is calm, predictable, and free of dogs or children, where she can quietly observe her surroundings and build trust at her own pace. For an adopter who values patience and appreciates the beauty of earning a shy cat’s trust,  Lindsey offers the quiet joy of watching her personality blossom and the reward of her unique companionship. Lindsey would be best suited for a one to two adult home. Lindsey has formed strong bonds with two of our other shy cats, Twin and Shorty , and we’d love to see her adopted with one (or both!) of them. Their companionship boosts her confidence and brings out the best in her. She could also do well in a home with one calm, non-confrontational cat who respects her boundaries. When Lindsey arrived at the shelter, she was so shy and fearful, she avoided the ground and stayed far from humans for months. With help from our Cat Behavior Manager’s care, she now confidently roams the shelter, plays, and shows a growing curiosity about people. This incredible progress has proven to us that she’s ready to thrive in a home with fewer distractions and more stability. Ready to give Lindsey—and maybe Twin or Shorty—the loving home they deserve? Contact us today to meet this special girl and be part of her amazing journey!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 10, 2025, 2:44 pm
