Story
Gadget is a 6 1/2 year old male Lynx Point Siamese Cat. I got him as a kitten, and he has been through 2 house moves, but my wife and I are expecting in June and can no longer keep him. He has claws, is neutered, and is up to date with all vaccines recommended for indoor cats. He is litter box trained. He has never urinated outside of his litter box to my knowledge, but does defecate outside his box every now and then. He sleeps for much of the day, but will be playful if he likes the toy given to him. Gadget is a very loving cat to people that he trusts, but he is aggressive to any other people and animals. He may be a challenging rehome project, and it may take a while for him to warm up to you. I strongly recommend that he does not go to a home with young children or other animals. I don't want to get rid of him, but with our own baby on the way, he needs to find a new home that he will feel safe in.

Story
Stormy is a Siamese cat, born in 2019.  The perfect home for Stormy would be as the only cat with a male as his person.  It seems Stormy prefers males to females!  He's friendly with all kids, but gets a little nervous around young kids that might try to grab him.  He's also just a little shy around people he doesn't know.  Stormy currently lives with 2 female dogs and has lived with 2 cats - he's friendly with both.  He is litter trained and does well home alone while his people are at work. Help us find Stormy a new home!  Someone in his current home is allergic and we need to find a place so he has room to roam and explore. The suggested adoption donation for Stormy is $75, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note:  A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Daphne-Female-03/11/2023 Meet Daphne, aka DaffaDoo, Daffadoodle, and Daffy Girl—the fluffball who looks like a toasted marshmallow with legs! Daphne excels in pitty pats and is a pro at kitchen assistance, making sure no crumb is left unmonitored. This sweet girl is always right by your side, greeting you with cheerful meows at the door and following you around like a dedicated little shadow. While she’s not big on being a lap cat, her constant companionship and friendly chatter make her an irresistible friend. Daphne gets along well with other pets but enjoys having her own personal space to unwind. Her bond with her sister Rhea is truly heartwarming, filled with snuggles and grooming sessions. Daphne has had ear ablation surgery and came to us with CH (cerebellar hypoplasia), though she’s not particularly wobbly—she’s mostly just a regular kitty! In her foster home, Daphne prefers to socialize with Rhea, making them an adorable pair if you’re looking for double the love. If you need a happy, loyal companion who always has a wiggle in her step, Daphne is your girl! **Thank you for your interest in adopting one of our animals! Please be aware that we do not ship animals; all adoptions require in-person pickup in Omaha, NE, at a mutually agreed-upon location. Adoptions are processed on a first-approved basis, meaning that the first approved applicants receive priority in choosing an animal. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to hearing from you. If you are interested in Daphne, please complete an application at www.nalarescue.org.

Story
Rhea-Female-03/11/2023 Introducing Rhea, the shy yet snuggly diva with a velvety coat that’s as soft as a cloud. Though it might take a sprinkle of patience and a dash of trust to win her over, once you do, you’ll discover a lap cat extraordinaire who’s all about the scritches. Rhea is a fan of around-the-clock cuddles and will happily crash your sleep to be your personal furry pillow. She’s a bit of a social butterfly, making friends with other pets but blissfully oblivious to their need for personal space. With a playful spirit and a love for roughhousing, Rhea’s a whirlwind of affection. Her heart belongs to her sister, Daphne, and their snuggle sessions and grooming parties are legendary. If you’re ready for a snuggly lap cat who’s got a whole lot of love to give, Rhea’s your gal! **Thank you for your interest in adopting one of our animals! Story
Gypsy came to our rescue from a shelter where he wasn't doing well and it seemed he needed to be in a foster setting to get him out of his funk. Gypsy lost his person and had another companion cat that was adopted out before we were asked if we would be interested in taking him into a foster home. We were lucky and had a wonderful person reach out willing to foster this rather overweight senior boy. He is completely UTD on vetting but could use more playtime to help offset his weight struggle. In the few short weeks that he has been with our foster, he has perked up, seems to be accepting the fact that life can offer some truly terrible knocks. He, no doubt, missed his person but getting love an attention constantly has really helped him cope more. He is roughly around 10 years old, handsome neutered Flame Point Siamese, long-haired. He doesn't really enjoy being picked up but after some weight loss, that may change. He does enjoy being petted and loved and no doubt as he understands he has new permanent people at a forever home, that will improve more. He will needregular brushing to keep up on any mats that accumulate.

Story
Shrek is a gentle giant who embodies the spirit of a cuddly teddy bear in a cat's body. Once a stray who endured the harshness of life on the streets, he bears the scars of his past, including a BB gun bullet lodged in his side—though it doesn't appear to cause him pain. Now, in the warmth of his foster home, Shrek is thriving; his fur is growing back, and he's discovering the joy of regular meals and love. With a heart as big as his chonky body, this affectionate and playful cat craves attention and loves being near his humans. Shrek's adorable clumsy antics will keep you entertained, and his sweet nature makes him a joy to be around. Though he’s FIV+, he can happily coexist with other non-positive cats and has done well with dogs too. Shrek is ready to fill your home with warmth and laughter—if you’re looking for a loyal companion who will melt your heart, our big boy is waiting for you! Shrek is a Flame Point Siamese born approximately 9-5-21 and weighs 12 lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested negative FeLV; positive for FIV. Adoption fee is $100 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
