Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Latte – A Siamese Mix for the Brave-Hearted  Not a beginner kitten. Not an instant cuddle bug. Latte is for someone who wants to earn trust, build confidence, and watch a shy, brilliant kitten transform. Meet Latte, our Siamese mix male — lovingly described as our little challenge. Rescued from a cat colony at just 8 weeks old, Latte is still learning that humans can be safe and kind. He’s cautious, observant, and unmistakably intelligent. Latte already shows signs of curiosity and engagement — watching people closely, learning routines, and testing the world around him. With patience, consistency, and gentle handling, he has real potential to blossom into a deeply bonded companion. We’re seeking a special adopter: someone calm, kind, and patient, who understands that socialization is a journey. Latte needs a human who sees progress as a series of small, meaningful steps — and who celebrates every one. Siamese cats are widely known as one of the most intelligent and interactive breeds — fast learners, problem solvers, and deeply bonded companions once trust is earned. Latte has that spark. He simply needs the right environment for it to shine. While no kitten is fully hypoallergenic, Siamese mixes tend to be low shedders, which may mean milder reactions for some allergy-sensitive households Latte’s Ideal Home  A patient, cat-savvy adopter who understands shy or semi-feral kittens A calm, predictable household (quiet adults or older, respectful children) Someone willing to invest time and gentle socialization — no rushing, no pressure A home that values trust-building, enrichment, and routine An adopter who sees Latte as a project with a payoff, not a quick win Bonus: a confident, friendly resident cat can sometimes help show Latte the ropes (not required) Latte isn’t for everyone — and that’s exactly what makes him special. He’s for the person who believes the most rewarding relationships are built slowly, with patience and heart. If you’re looking for a kitten who will grow with you — Latte may be the challenge you’ve been looking for! If you are interested in a meet and greet please call Dex Dexter at 850-766-2615 to set it up. Please fill out the adoption application at dexterskitties.org. before applying for Latte. He has all  his shots, is fixed, is micro-chipped, Has a negative SNAP test. Adoption fee is $125. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 23, 2025, 7:07 pm

Story
We would like to introduce the handsome Chaney. This beautiful boy is just a year old and was trapped outside earlier this year. He had a bad case of pillow foot and was doing well. He wasn’t sure if he liked people, but was not healthy enough to put back outside. He also needed months of medication to heal his foot. Chaney took his medicine and one day decided he likes people. That like turned to love and he’s an absolutely loveable boy now. You can carry him around like a baby and he won’t complain! Chaney’s pillow foot has healed up, but he has extreme weakness in that leg. The leg seems to collapse when he walks, but he can jump and climb and run just fine. Last week, Chaney was struggling to pee and it turns out he was blocked. His foster rushed him to the emergency vet and they were thankfully able to unblock him without surgery. He has to eat canned urinary food now. At his follow up appointment, it was also discovered that Chaney is diabetic 😭 This guy can’t catch a break! He is on twice daily insulin now and gets that after he eats his two daily meals of canned urinary food. To say Chaney is an investment cat might be an understatement - but he is so worth it 😻🥹 This poor cat never would have made it outside and deserves to be healthy, loved, and safe inside.

Story
She is an independent and very clean cat, as well as truly beautiful. All she really needs is love and a safe, calm environment. She can get a bit tense and stressed when there are too many people around, and she’s not very fond of physical contact at first. But once she adapts to someone, she shows her sweetest and most special side.

Story
Meet Rocket and Mantis! These two wonderful, goofy siblings are the epitome of love and joy. They’ve been with us for over a year and a half, and they’ve filled every day with their playful antics and sweet companionship. Though they’re now adults, they haven’t lost their youthful spirit. Whether they’re chasing each other around or just hanging out, their energy and affection are endless. After a rough start, Mantis and Rocket have thrived in the warmth of our home. They’ve come so far since their early days, and we’ve watched them grow into strong, happy cats who are ready to share their love with their forever family. Their bond is unbreakable, and they need to be adopted together—these two are a pair who love each other more than anything! Despite being FELV+ (Feline Leukemia Virus positive), these siblings continue to live life to the fullest. FELV does affect their immune system, but it doesn’t stop them from being the playful, affectionate cats they’ve always been. FELV is not contagious to humans or other pets (except for cats), so they’d do best in a home with either no other cats or one that already understands the dynamics of living with FELV-positive cats. Adopting FELV+ cats requires some extra attention to their health, but with the right care and guidance from your vet, Mantis and Rocket can live happy, fulfilling lives. Their playful personalities and unwavering affection make them the perfect companions for the right home. If you’re looking for a pair of sweet, loving cats who will bring joy, laughter, and cuddles into your home, Mantis and Rocket are ready to shower you with all their love! ##1788079##
