He did test positive for FIV but he is very healthy otherwise. He would like to be your one and only pet, as he likes to be the king of the castle. He had a rough start to life and still has some trauma he is mentally healing from, but he has a lot of faith in his humans and wants to trust you completely, he will just need someone who is patient and cat experienced. He is a people kitty, he likes to conversate with you about his day and is eager to hear about yours. Hello! I am looking for a wonderful home for my grandmother's 2 sweet senior kitties. She was placed into an assisted living facility and can no longer have her cats, but they mean the world to her so I am trying to find them the best home possible! Rufus and Ruby are both 15 yrs old, fixed, but not sure about their vaccine history. Ruby: Female, Siamese, beautiful blue eyes! She is very timid with strangers and normally hides when an unknown person comes in the house, but she is an absolute love bug when she warms up. She loves behind the ear and back scratches, and rolling around the floor when she's happy. Rufus: Male, black, bright yellow eyes! He is very friendly and sociable. He can be a bit of a talker! He absolutely loves getting treats. He's the sweetest guy, very mellow but so friendly with people. Unfortunately, these are the only pictures I currently have of them. They are a bonded pair and I would really like to keep them together! Please ask any questions!

This entirely treatable medical condition—which occurs in approximately 10% of senior cats—is totally controlled by a simple medication. (Plus, he knows the drill and takes it like a champ.) She turned to The Rescue House to ask if we could help Henry.PERSONALITY: Long and lanky with beautiful blue eyes, Henry is a stone-cold stunner! This chatty kitty will talk your ears off about anything and everything (especially come mealtime) and despite approaching double digits in age is pretty lively. He gets the zoomies and is a playful fellow. Henry enjoys his adventures climbing cat trees, exploring cardboard jungles, playing with water, and trying to catch the elusive red dot of the laser pointer. His favorite spot of the moment to settle is inside a pop-up playpen that he’s made into his own personal “house”. Henry is a sweetie who likes to interact with his known people, and his whole face lights up when you get out a brush: the phrase “writhing in ecstasy” is appropriate as you groom Henry, and he hopes you’ll pamper him every day! Petting is most welcome as well, though he does ask you please avoid his belly and largely let him keep his paws under his own control. If you’re looking for good conversations to go with good company, Henry’s your guy.COMPATIBILITY: Henry would make an excellent solo kitty, though he can live with other mellow cats who aren’t looking for a buddy; if they let him do his own thing, he’s indifferent to their presence, though he’d rather only live with just one or two versus a clowder. We don’t know his thoughts on dogs. Gentle late elementary-aged children would likely be fine once everyone is gradually introduced; Henry does need some time to adjust to new people and places.Henry has so much more life to live!
