Story
Outgoing, Likes to be carried like a baby, super affectionate.Francesca was named after the character in the book and movie “Under the Tuscan Sun” about a woman that embarked on her own journey and bought a Villa in Italy. Francesca loves the pleasure of food similar to the character that entertains and cooks in her Villa. Her backside has a racing stripe down her back that looks like a chipmunk’s markings. She loves being snuggled and sleep in bed and is an all-around easy cat to live with. But she is “all” Siamese! Very vocal, and she has a loving but dominant almost bossy personality. Her personality includes having strong prey instincts watching the birds from the window. So a home without other small pets like birds or hamsters would be best. She lives with other cats but she has to be boss and she can begin to play rough and therefore we believe she is best with being the only cat, unless with a very cat savvy owner them we could discuss it.    October 29, 2024, 7:02 am

Todd, the beautiful 5 year old white Apple-head Siamese kitty, is looking for a forever home!! Todd loves attention and having his head scratched. He meows loudly for attention and absolutely loves being noticed! He has a wonderful fun personality and a playful unique meow that you can’t help but love. Todd was abandoned at a near-by condo complex. With the help of Community Animal Network, a very kind lady was able to safely and humanely trap Todd. Story
Needs A Quiet Home Without Kids or DogsCourage is a beautiful white apple-head Siamese with big blue eyes that would be happy living in a quiet home without dogs or kids. While he lives with other cats now, other cats take the spots nearest his caregiver that he wishes he had. Courage deserves to have all the attention and his dream would be king of his home, without so much competition for affection. Would that be the kind of home you could provide? His favorite comfy spaces are baskets to curl up inside. His previous home was his rescue foster family that saved him when he was a kitten from a Target parking lot when he was being chased by a “murder of crows”, which is the correct term for a flock of crows. He did not do well in his rescue home that was active with kids another cat and a Great Dane. For more info, text DiAnna at 949-759-3646 or email at DiAnna@networkfounder.org. Courage is being cared for by Community Animal Network, a non-profit organization founded by DiAnna Pfaff-Martin in 1996. C.A.N is a veterinary medical rescue that helps dogs and cats that need to find new homes. C.A.N. foster homes are nurture houses and animals need time to decompress after some of the unfortunate experiences of their past. Fostering is a wonderful way to help and also consider adopting by getting to know different animal’s that fit with your family’s lifestyle. Box 8662 Newport Beach, CA 92658 The founder of Community Animal Network, DiAnna Pfaff-Martin, is a feline expert with over 25 years of active rescue experience and is very particular about the nurturing of the animals to discover their needs to be happy in their future home. “The Community Animal Report”, DiAnna wrote and self-published in the 1990’s standing in public places handing her paper out and helping private parties rehome their pets through her classified section called, “Pre-Loved Pets”. In 1998 she was offered to write a weekly column called the, “Pet Of the Week” for the Los Angeles Times Daily Pilot Community Newspaper. DiAnna wrote the “Pet of the Week” for 18 years until 2016. With DiAnna’s experience, feral kittens are tamed to "pet quality" and rescue cats that are shy are disclosed and termed, "rescue quality" with a lower placement fee and these special kitties often blossom in just the right home.   All future pet-parents receive valuable information about cat care in a two hour "feline pet-parenting consultation" that focuses a lot on the health and safety of the cat. Bottle Fed & Ready For Foster Family To Enjoy The Easy Work! This beautiful litter of 3 Siamese and a sweet Calico are ready to move from the woman that bottle-fed them and they will be ready for adoption soon.  If you know how much work bottle-feeding is you will know how much the caregiver needs a break and some lucky person can do the “light-lifting and enjoy these kittens while they ready for adoption. You must be in Orange County to foster cats for us!! Just so you know, our kittens are adopted in pairs because every young being needs a friend and an “equal energy playmate” is one that is well match in play energy. If you have an old cat and want to adopt a kitten always adopt a pair so your old cat can enjoy being a senior and snoozing and but enjoying watching and not being jumped on and chased all day or night. Just think of human grandparents enjoying the time with the children for a time and how they take them back to their parents and then get some rest.   Adopting a bonded pair of kittens that are well-matched by play energy helps avoid “unhappy” cats that just tolerate each other or terrorize each other. My specialty is, “Make Cats Happy!” It all starts with making the right choice to adopt based on your home, your lifestyle, the family members and other pets in your home. These kittens are available for adoption, but we are seeking a foster to take them into their home until they are fully vetted and altered prior to going to their new homes. The foster will have first right to choose a pair! Community Animal Network will be accepting pre-adoption applications and we abide by COVID-19 safety precautions when showing our animals because they live in private homes. The adoption includes, spay/neuter, viral blood testing for FIV/FELv, vaccinations, two dewormings, nails trimmed and our animals have no fleas. A 1 ½ hour feline pet-parenting consultation is included and there is a lot of veterinary medical information because a pet-parents largest expense is for sickness and hospitalizations. Much of the focus of the pet-parenting consultation is on symptoms of common diseases and foods to avoid that cause them. We implant AVID microchips and the registration in the national 24-hour pet recovery data base is included, a 30-day health commitment and a 30-day return policy apply. The adoption papers disclose previous treatments and any disclosures. Our vet is Dr. Elaine Wexler-Mitchell, an author and a board-certified feline specialist that owns, The Cat Care Clinic in the city of Orange. She is not taking any new patients, but does see those animals adopted from us! Community Animal Network is a veterinary medical rescue founded in 1996 for abandoned and “at risk” shelter dogs and cats. In 2015 the board unanimously supported the birth of the veterinary internship program designed for aspiring veterinarian’s as young as 15. When you adopt or donate to Community Animal Network you are helping a young person step into their future! The interns learn from studying vet records, following vet orders and receive hands-on animal handling experience; give medications, injections, draw blood and observe procedures and treatments. Thank you for considering helping a local animal by fostering or if you can make a donation to help it would be so greatly appreciated!    DiAnna Pfaff-Martin Founder & Director P.O. Sugar is a SUPER SWEET and cuddly girl who's ready to find her forever human! She's done a great job being a mom, and now just wants to be spoiled herself. While she prefers to be the only cat, she can get along with other cats with a slow introduction. She does well with dogs. If you're looking for a loving companion who just wants a person to call her own, Sugar is your girl!

Story
If you’ve ever wanted to live with a small criminal I recommend adopting Indigo. He is incredibly sweet and playful — you just have to watch out for him knocking things off desks, tipping over toy baskets, and getting too high on catnip. After wearing himself out he likes to sleep by his humans’ feet and can be easily enticed into lying in someone’s arms, earning himself a criminal charge for cuteness. Indigo will tolerate most annoyances as long as food is involved. In fact, I recommend his future guardian gets him a slow feeder bowl and a mat for underneath because he treats every meal like he’s in a fast eating competition – if the competition were about getting 3/4ths of the food on the floor. Indigo would do great in a home with other cats as long as they are outgoing and confident enough to set boundaries because Indigo doesn’t quite understand the concept of personal space. Despite being rescued from a situation where he was regularly being kicked, Indigo is sure to get underfoot while following you around — DNA tests reveal he is part Velcro, although we're not confident the lab isn't part of his elaborate money laundering scheme. At least Indigo is easy to jail because he doesn't understand that he's capable of opening doors left slightly ajar.

This adorable ball of fur is Willow! His personality can be described as somewhere between “Netflix and chill” and “say yes to adventure!”  He is really good at matching the energy that’s around him. He loves to play and zoom around the house just as much as he loves to sit in the window and sunbathe. With a little playtime, belly rubs, and treats, he will be purring on your lap making biscuits in no time! Willow would love to be adopted with his sister Mia but with such a great personality, he will fit right in with anyone that can match his energy.

Story
Tasha is being adopted through the San Gabriel Valley Animal Advocates. If you are interested in adopting Tasha, please submit an adoption application at http://www.sgvaa.org and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Your adoption donation allows us to rescue the next kitty from the streets and pay for all their health and medical needs. Most of our adoptable pets live in loving foster homes. We can arrange meet-and-greets with our foster families, at our live-in habitats in the West Covina and El Monte Petcos, as well as at the Huntington Beach (Edinger) PetSmart. SGVAA is an all-volunteer, non-profit rescue organization serving the San Gabriel Valley area. For more information on how you can help your community, please visit: www.sgvaa.org Their Adoption Process If you are interested in any of our adoptable pets or have additional questions, please fill out an adoption application and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Since we are an all-volunteer organization, it may take us within 24-48 hours to respond. Our little fur babies are so adorable that sometimes we get multiple applications for one pet! So if the pet you are interested in is no longer available there is no need to worry! We have plenty of friends who are furry! As part of the adoption process, we screen each new potential owner, and do home visits to ensure that an animal and owner are a good match. Once your adoption application has been approved, we will have you fill out a Pet Promise Certificate (adoption contract) *SGVAA’s adoption donation allows us to rescue the next kitty from the streets and pay for all of their health and welfare needs (spay, neuter, shots, deworming, flea meds, microchip) *We also provide free home delivery of your new kitty/kitties! About This Rescue SGVAA is dedicated to the protection and humane treatment of pets in the San Gabriel Valley area. We encourage people to rescue a homeless animal instead of buying one. Our organization also educates the community on the importance of early vaccinations for fatal and easily preventable diseases. We also advocate spaying or neutering to reduce pet overpopulation. Once an animal is in our care we vaccinate all rescues against disease & provide needed health care, fight pet overpopulation by spaying or neutering all rescues, and provide lifetime shelter and care to any rescued animal that is not adopted. Come Meet Their Pets Most of our adoptable pets live in loving foster homes. For interested adopters, we can arrange meet-and-greets with our foster families, at our live-in habitats in the West Covina and El Monte Petcos, as well as at the Huntington Beach (Edinger) Petsmart. Story
Larry, Harry, Perry, Jerry, Gary and Karrie arrived as sick kittens with giardia and respiratory infections.   Giardia was treated and they have all tested negative multiple times. The respiratory viruses, which most cats have been exposed to, continues to cause some of them to get sick from time to time, sometimes requiring eye medication. Our vet also mentioned cats in a shelter environment are constantly exposed and constantly stressed - that causes respiratory infection flare ups. Once these cats are adopted into homes usually the symptoms go away, although occasional flare-ups may still occur. Gary looks most like Larry – almost all white – but with orange around his nose and lighter blue eyes. Gary is the shyest one of the group. Larry is the smallest of the group. He is almost entirely white with steel blue-gray eyes, with one exception: his light orange striped tail. Harry is one cool black cat, complete with black button nose and green eyes. Harry can also be a little shy but warms up quickly and likes attention. Perry is all mackerel tabby. He has strong black and tan markings and a very discernable “M” on his forehead. Perry is sweet and likes attention but can be a bit shy at first. Jerry, an orange and white tabby. Friendly and very playful, Jerry craves human attention and interaction. He has golden eyes and a pink button nose. Please submit an application to adopt one of the cats at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet the selected cat (or cats!) and get to know him (or them!) a bit. Donation of $100 for cat adoption includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Applications require a veterinary reference and home visit. We adopt to residents of Orange County, CA and surrounding areas. Please note: For families with children, we require children to be 10 years of age or older, although exceptions are made depending on the circumstances. For more information on adoption policies visit our cat adoption page at www.aaloc.org. Contact us by e-mail at aaloc@aaloc.org.
