(Get ready for naps on laps!) Our clever cuties turn anything into a toy: little mice, scratchers, trackballs, tunnels, wands, a bro or sis, and even their own tail. For kittens, they have excellent manners and are learning new things every day!---Gus is a star and knows it! Confident and curious, this explorer is the leader of the pack. He’s a gregarious in-your-face kitten who wants to be with you at all times and share his opinions.---Belle is dainty, independent, and observant. This super-sweet happy-natured girl is the first to cuddle with you. She loves her little toy mice and will sometimes even play fetch!---Jazmine isn’t as rowdy or talkative as her siblings and has more of a chill vibe. She’s still plenty inquisitive and playful, and her ready purr will make your heart melt when you’re cuddling.---Aurora is the queen of the castle and super confident and curious. She loves to hang with people and snuggle and give kisses.COMPATIBILITY: This super-friendly group is good with other cats as well as gentle children. They haven’t met dogs though we think they’d likely adapt well with an intro. Hera is a gorgeous girl who was found living behind a barbershop with her five kittens. She was an amazing mama who is quite young herself - our vet estimates no older than 2 years old - so she’s both nurturing and playful with her babies. She has the most unique striped whiskers and trilling meow. (She loves to talk!) She does still have some of those protective maternal hormones since it can take a few months for them to leave her system after she’s spayed, so she’s a little nervous with people but you can tell she’s a love bug under there - she head butts your legs constantly, loves to make figure-eights around your feet, and chirps in her unique little voice whenever she wants your attention. Hera just needs an experienced cat owner who can give her the time and space she needs to settle in. (The nervous element may also be in large part because the foster home she’s in has other adult cats she can smell and hear, so it may be much less of an issue if you don’t have other animals.) This stunning young Mama is "Kicka" (she's "Curba's" Mom and only a year older than her baby)She was abandoned in Puerto Vallarta, by a person who once cared for them and then abandoned them both. She once lived in a home and is not a "street" cat. Kicka is affectionate and will follow our staff for attention and cuddles. Meet Zorn: The Ultimate Grumpy Charmer!This resilient little warrior has overcome incredible odds after being found injured, likely from a car accident that cost him both back legs. But don't let his past fool you - Zorn is a fighter! Zorn can walk around using his front two legs with no problems. He enjoys the company of other cats and humans (after some time to warm up). Instead of snuggles, Zorn's love language is a head bump, especially if there's food involved.Despite his challenges, he's fully capable of using the litter box independently and can potty independently. Since losing his back legs, Zorn has adapted like a pro - he zooms around on his front paws, scoffing at wheelchairs and clambering up onto beds without missing a beat. He's perfectly potty-trained and only asks for a little help keeping his rump clean.Zorn has a vocal and grouchy personality that shines through, and beneath that grumpy exterior lies a heart full of love! Zorn may look like a bit of a grump, but he's earned it! This handsome fellow has been through a lot, and he's made it clear that he's not here for cuddles or smothering attention. he is still learning to live as a two-legged cat, so he will need time to adapt and realize he doesn't need to be in 'survival mode' anymore. This sweet boy we named Bocelli as he is sight-impaired. He was found abandoned by previous owners in an area of Puerto Vallarta. Luckily he found some kind neighbours who reached out to us to help him. They knew he was far too gentle and loving to be a street cat. We took him in and unfortunately when testing him for viral diseases, discovered he is FIV positive. This is not a death sentence for this sweet boy, just a small challenge to overcome, finding him the RIGHT home. FIV cats can live long lives in homes with other FIV positive cats, as solo cat or with other friendly cats who are sterilized and don't fight. She and her 4 siblings were luckily nursed back to health by an amazing foster family (including two amazing kids)......Literally bottle fed around the clock!! They will be amazing kitties due to the loving care they received. All are very comfortable being held and seek human attention. *** Missy is in a foster home. ***Cream/brown/white Snowshoe mix, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 7/1/21, #19231Cats: may like a companion Dogs: probably not Children: tweens+ / adultsMissy was found fending for herself on the streets of LA and was taken to a local shelter where she was given a late-pregnancy spay. As she was recovering from that, she came down with a respiratory infection and stopped eating; she had already been skinny as her resources went into her pregnancy. It was then that she came to The Rescue House. With TLC and medical care, she has recovered from her infection and is eating heartily to regain necessary weight.Missy is still in the process of figuring out her new life of ready food and pampering; it was a big change, after all, and Missy most of all wants to feel safe. Yet even in the month she’s been into our care she has made leaps and bounds toward becoming an amazing future companion to her adopter. She first spent her days hiding and only coming out to eat at night. Now she is coming out to explore, happily devour her Churu treats, and come perch by the window. While she still favors secure nooks and a quiet environment, when her foster goes to find her Missy really leans into the pets and will chirp and purr. She is slowly discovering what toys she likes (the round trackball tower) and what she doesn’t like (wands with bells). She is a huge sweetie! When a cat is outwardly shy like Missy, she can get passed over for more blatantly outgoing cats, but the strides she has made should not be taken lightly and show the promise of what she can become with a patient and accepting adopter.While she has not yet interacted with any other cats in foster care, we think Missy may like a welcoming kitty companion to both be her friend and to help her boost her confidence. We don’t know her thoughts on dogs. Younger or boisterous children would not be a good fit. She needs a quieter and routine-structured environment. Missy’s sweet nature is already clear, and she just needs a special person to give her the time to fully flourish. Will you give her that chance?

Knowing their tenant had cat rescue connections, they asked for help.---Snowball is a very friendly boy who likes to get pets as well as be held and cuddled (he particularly loves face rubs). He plays with anything that moves, so be ready for some energetic hallway soccer and catnip parties.---Bruce Wayne likes to have his shoulders rubbed and will really lean into a good massage. He enjoys being held and will come when called, though at times he’s not in the mood… after all, he’s a cat, and those laser lights and trackballs won’t chase themselves!---Lucy loves to be held and is such a good girl who will rub against her person for attention. She’ll flop over to invite you to pet her tummy: don’t worry, it’s not really a trap, even if she does sometimes show off her pearly whites. (Belly rubs for the win.) Lucy will play with anything that is available.These three sweethearts are all good with other cats, enjoy having playmates, and would be delighted to have feline company (maybe a sibling?) in their new home. They find dogs intimidating and do not want to live with canines. They would prefer a home without young or overly boisterous children, though respectful tweens and up could be welcome friends.Snowball, Bruce Wayne, and Lucy are lucky little kitties and are looking to extend their luck just a little bit more… to a forever home!
