Story
Meet Sunny! Sunny is a 5 month old small mixed breed puppy looking for her forever home! This little sweetheart has mastered the biggest puppy dog eyes and has the cutest disposition. This poor girl was brought to animal control after being dumped in the middle of a forest preserve with evidence of head trauma. Brought into a foster home to recover, Sunny has grown and thrived despite her shy nature. She has made friends with both large and small dogs, her best friend being a Great Pyrnees mix. Sunny has even gotten the household cat to warm up to her. She is their little shadow around the house and enjoys walking the fence line with the pack, though she is still working up the courage to go adventuring on her own. Humans are her second best friend and want to be part of all the action. One of her favorite pastimes is napping in bed beside you. Right now, Sunny is crate-trained and currently working on potty-training. She is learning that peeing on pee pads is a good choice and is getting braver about doing business outside so long as she has a good support system. Her leash skills aren’t perfect, but they are improving every day! This pocketful of sunshine can be shy at first when it comes to new people, but warms up quickly. This little pup is attention motivated and loves her toys, though needs the occasional reminder which ones are hers! She is still very much a puppy and likes to explore with her mouth. Sunny swears she is practicing her best manners though! Sunny is looking for the perfect family to give her their unconditional love and attention. She needs someone who will take things at her pace and help boost her confidence. Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. Story
Meet Alex and Abbey – A Bonded Pair Looking for Love Alex and Abbey are an inseparable duo searching for their forever home! Abbey is a small mixed breed, possibly with some Shih Tzu or Poodle in the mix. This middle-aged lady may take about 30 minutes to warm up to new people, but once she trusts you, she’s all about high fives, kisses, and endless cuddles. Abbey is highly motivated by love and is always eager to please. She’s perfectly content whether she’s playing outside, perched on the back of a couch like a cat, or snuggling in bed all day long. Adaptable and quick to learn new routines, Abbey will thrive in a home with older kids due to her petite size. Abbey gets along well with dogs, cats, and people of all ages. She’s fearless in her role as your “almost toothless” protector, although she may bark to let you know she’s on duty. With patience and extra love, Abbey will blossom into your most devoted companion, her button eyes melting your heart every time you look her way. She has so much life and love to share! Alex, a petite Chihuahua mix, may be small, but he’s got big dog energy! If you love the spunky, spirited personality of Chihuahuas, Alex will keep you laughing every day. Like Abbey, he’s middle-aged and takes some time to decompress in a new environment. Once he’s comfortable, he’s a social butterfly who thrives on affection and loves to zip around the yard, play with dogs and cats, and, of course, enjoy his treats. Alex is mostly potty trained and learns routines quickly. He adores snuggling in bed and is fiercely loyal, despite only having two teeth left after a recent dental. Watching Alex grow more confident and affectionate every day is one of the most rewarding things, and he deserves a home where he can continue to flourish. Both Alex and Abbey are fully vetted, and they recently had dental work to ensure their mouths are in tip-top shape. If you’re ready to open your heart to this special pair, Alex and Abbey are waiting to fill your home with love and laughter! Their adoption fee is $650 cash or check and $660 credit card ($10 processing fee). .
