Story
Beef Jerky Is a Shih Tzu puppy. He loves to explore his surroundings and play fight with other little dogs. So far he sleeps in a playpen. He may wake for late night for play fights, but will go back to sleep without problem. Beef Jerky is using the puppy pads most of the time, but he is still learning. He is not quite sure what to do about using the potty outside just yet, but he does love to explore the yard. Beef Jerky is not possessive of his humans. He is okay with other dogs, and children, but hasn’t had experience with cats. He is OK with cars. He has not shown any signs of aggression of any type. He is just a curious puppy. He is definitely motivated by food. -----

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.

After a few whimpers, he goes right to sleep and generally sleeps through the night. He likes a nightlight in the room. During the day, he will sometimes choose to sleep in his crate for naps, though he prefers to nap in a bed or lap near his people. Goldfish does a good job of going to the bathroom outside each morning. He will also go potty outside anytime he is outdoors. When in his room/pen, he usually goes on the mat. However, when out in the larger areas of our house, he tends to go wherever is convenient, so he needs help learning to go win appropriate places. Goldfish is playful and snuggly when in a room with his people, however, when left alone in a room, he tends to whimper for a minute until he settles. He is good with cats and dogs and Ok riding in a car. He is one terrific little dog! -----

Story
Bosier is a Shih Tzu puppy. He is such an amazing little guy! He is a bit hesitant, but when you get down on his level he is happy to come sit in your lap and he loves a cuddle. He’s spunky and playful, but settles in your lap or beside you or even in his bed. He loves his toys, and is getting pretty consistent with using pee pads. Although he LOVES his brother, he’s happy to be separated from him. They do sleep together at times, but then also nap independently especially with the humans in the home. He’s eating and drinking readily. He was a champ in the bath and is all around pretty quiet. He doesn’t bark much, but did have a little chirp when the the front door opened and someone comes home. He’s very respectful of the other dogs in the house and of food. He only needed 1 warning to stay away from other dogs when they eat. He has no interest in chasing cats. He definitely looks at them, and is curious but doesn’t chase. Bosier sleeps in a human’s bed, if he has a choice. He sleeps up on a pillow, usually where the fan can hit him a bit. He sleeps all night hardly moving. During the day he will sleep in his bed or on the couch if someone is on it. He LOVES to sleep with any person who will let him! He’s learning about pee pads and uses them most of the time but potties outside first thing in the morning and after waking during the day. He doesn’t have the hang of announcing that he has to go out, but is using the pads most of the time. He hasn’t been around any kids younger than 15. He does jump so little kids may get overwhelmed at first, but he’s such a low rider with his little legs, it probably wouldn’t be a huge problem, especially since he take direction quickly. He’s perfect around other dogs who are relaxed and respectful. He rides well in a car. Whoever gets this guy will be so lucky! He’s a dream!!! -----

Story
Permanent, Loving Homes Needed for Senior Rescue Dogs Over many years, I have monitored and tried to help this particular group of dogs. These dogs have been loved, responsibly vetted, and cared for throughout their lives, though not in an ideal overall situation. They were in a somewhat hoarding situation… not the typical not cared for at all one, but still applies. They were kept clean and fed and I paid for most of their vet care along the way, but their owner would not surrender them until now. I am finally allowed to find them homes, and cannot provide the level of long-term veterinary care these dogs deserve — including dental work, senior monitoring, and ongoing medical needs, thus, I am seeking permanent, stable homes where their remaining years can be lived with comfort, dignity, and consistency. What I am looking for • A calm, stable home • Someone experienced with senior dogs • Financial ability to provide ongoing veterinary and dental care • A commitment to keep them for life — no rehoming • Patience, kindness, and realistic expectations These dogs are older (aged 8 to 12 years old), and while many are still active, affectionate, and content, they will require the kind of care someone prepared for senior dogs can provide. What I will provide Full transparency about age, temperament, and medical needs Important medical history is known I do not have every vaccine record/etc but they are all spayed/ neutered, microchipped, and current on rabies vaccines Time for proper introductions Careful, thoughtful placement — this will not be rushed I am open to placing individual dogs or compatible pairs, and I will work closely with the right people to ensure a good match. If you are genuinely experienced with senior dogs and are prepared — financially and emotionally— to care for one for the rest of their life, please reach out by private message and tell me about yourself, your home, and your experience. These dogs deserve peace, safety, and love for the remainder of their lives. Thank you for reading with compassion. Hi, we're Misty and Lulu, real sisters (in the Seattle area) with hearts full of love. We can be adopted together or separate. We're sweet, friendly, and mellow. At 9 and 20 lbs, we're a perfectly bonded pair, if you are open to 2, but also do fine separately. We are fully vetted and ready to find a forever home where we can share our loyalty and love. We promise to fill your home with warmth and companionship. Consider making us a part of your family; we're just waiting to love and be loved in return. Note: when proof of dental is sent, the adoption fee will be returned to the adopter. We are DESPERATE for a home of our own. We are about 8 years old. Despite our different looks, we are true sisters from the same purebred shih tzu mommy dog. We are 2 of the best pups there too (we don't just say that, our fosters tell us so as well). They say we are absolutely too sweet and wonderful to be stuck without a home of our own. We do great with kids, cats, and other dogs... as long as the other dogs are not bossy or mean to us. We do pretty good not pottying in the house as long as we are kept on a regular schedule going outside. We are super sweet natured. We love to see what you are doing and just be near you whatever that is. We are not super high energy, so no need to do any dramatic things with us activity wise. We just love attention and cuddles! We need to be monitored when fed so Lulu doesn't eat all of the food... she tends to like it the most and steals mine when she can. I know we aren't young puppies anymore, but please give us a chance. Our rescue has a trial designed for you... so that you can be sure we are a good fit with your situation. Our vetting up to date (spay, heartworm free and on preventative, rabies, microchip, other vaccines up to date), with the exception of our dentals that need updated. We had our last dental about 3 years ago. I (Misty) have an old eye injury that I have had since a puppy. It does not bother me I am so used to not seeing too well out of that eye.

Story
Meet Flash! Hi there! My name is Flash, and I’m a 10-year-old, 12-pound Lhasa Apso (or something close to it!) with a big personality packed into a little body. I’m a social guy who truly loves everyone I meet—no warm-up period needed! I’ve been around children ages four and up and do great with them. In fact, one of my favorite parts of the day is when the kids get home from school—I get so excited to see them and join in on the fun! I’m a well-mannered gentleman with great house habits. I’m house trained and prefer lounging on my cozy dog bed over spending time in a crate. I walk nicely on a leash and really enjoy getting out for strolls where I can take my time sniffing, exploring, and checking out the world around me. I even like water, so maybe there are some beach adventures in my future! When it comes to other dogs, I do best with calm, respectful companions. Dogs that are too dominant or “in your face” can make me a little nervous, so I’d love a laid-back canine friend—or to be your one and only. My vision isn’t perfect, but don’t worry—I get around just fine! I may see shadows here and there, but I navigate my world confidently and don’t bump into things. I’m neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped, so I’m all set for my next chapter. If you’re looking for a sweet, friendly, easygoing companion to share your days with, I might just be your guy. I came into rescue after a nice lady kept seeing me tied up outside a local tire shop. I would just lay on the concrete all day. My new people talked the owner of the tire shop into letting me have a better life by finding a new family. That was no way for me to live. Interested in adopting Flash? Please email adopt@thezoeygroup.com for more information and application details.
