Meet Molly! She’s a sweet, 5-year-old white Shichon (Shih Tzu/Bichon Frise mix) looking for a loving home. Molly was deeply bonded to her owner, who sadly passed away, and she’s ready to find her next best friend. Molly is affectionate, loyal, and happiest when she’s by your side. She loves going on walks, playing fetch, and showing off her zoomies in the yard—but she’s just as happy curling up for a nap. She’s full of personality and will tilt her head adorably when you talk to her, trying to understand every word. She’s dog-door trained, leash trained and thrives on attention. Molly enjoys tug-of-war, being talked to, and having her people nearby. While she gets along with other dogs, she’s used to being the center of attention and would do well as an only dog or with a calm companion. Molly is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm prevention, and recently had a dental cleaning. She’s not a big fan of car rides and can be protective of her home, often alerting you to passersby. Molly would do best in a home with a yard, someone who’s home during the day, and plenty of walks and love to give. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there!
